Actually, with the new QV revision come effect after 1st September 2019, 5% cash back for contactless transaction, with the maximum cap of RM 30 monthly, equivalent to a total amount of RM 600 contactless transaction per month, not very hard to achieve right? Don really need to reset with pin transaction ya?

I mean..... if of course the whole month you only have that one day chance to do that contactless transaction of total sum > RM 600, and ya, you might need to pin transaction to reset.

Yes, the count will reset when there is pin input. I use Samsung Pay instead of physical card wave. So when my transaction is more than RM250, the terminal will trigger me to enter pin. In that case, my count will reset too. For me, I do my own tracking. If you do less than 9 wave transactions per week, you could just make it a habit to reset it at the petrol kiosk every time/week you pump your petrol. I have been doing it for more than a year now since I started using Samsung Pay.

After processing, it will show that the bank has approved. Then the screen will show that you can start to pump your petrol. Only then I press the cancel button. Lifting up the pump and putting it back without pumping will also cancel the transaction. I have only tried at BHP and Shell. Try to do it once at Petronas but I couldn't find the cancel button, so in the end I just pumped.

I have tried at ATM before. No, it didn't reset it.

Can't cancel @ Petronas for my JOP yesterday as well. I guess something wrong with Petronas system.

What had you tried @ ATM?

I have tried it at ATM, but that was more than a year ago when I started using Samsung Pay. The count was not reset with ATM. So for the past one year, I have been using petrol kiosk for resetting. All the while I have been using BHP, then Shell recently. Petronas I just tried once very recently and since I couldn't cancel it, I don't think I'll try that again. 😜

I can't recall clearly what I did at the ATM machine, probably just check balance, going through the menu, etc. So I guess if ATM works, maybe got to withdraw?

For the Petronas kiosk, it is different. Yes, confirmed you can't cancel it by pressing the cancel button or lift up the pump and putting it back. Only forward is to do pump then putting it back should stop to transaction. I did it below RM1 just to get the receipt.

If you choose withdraw by using credit card at atm, that gonna cost interest charge as the transaction should be cash advance right? No don't do withdraw.

Use Quantum visa card on ewallet transaction can't get cashback.

Oh! I missed that 9 times transaction thing. So yup, eventually still need pin transaction to reset it in between some contactless transactions. But yup, if average each contactless transaction > RM 70, then 9 times can achieve the max RM 30 CB ald. Then QV can keep in drawer till next month ald.

Since it is approved, a tiny amount of the credit limit will be reserved. Maybe, after the acquirer bank of the petrol station voids the transaction, the credit limit will be restored a few days later. Then again, this is just a very minor issue, that can be neglected.

You didn't try to re-instate the old card instead of re-apply?

Usually the kiosk pump will hold RM200 when you pump, but if I cancel, there is no holding of RM200. I did check online if there is any authorised amount, but there isn't any, which is good.
