Damn slow SA withdraw funds. Submit on 22nd until now haven't withdraw yet. My profit dropped almost 30% from 22nd until now. Contacted SA they say due to insufficient withdrawal from DRB portfolios, hence it did not meet the minimum amount to send out from broker Saxo for GBP.

What the hell....

How long SAMY take to buy the MMF? Asking so I can time my deposit weekly.

Also now the processing quite slow. I deposit Saturday night, until now still processing, not even execute buy order for my portfolio. Taking their sweet time 2-3 business days I guess? lol

Took about 3 days

Buy on Saturday but no body work 😁.
Must wait Monday to execute the process. 😀
So, SAMY receive on 29 June (normally is night time received), 30 june start to buy portfolio, probably 30 June or 1 July finish buy order because Monday too many order stuck there.
Am i right? 😁😁😁

If u buy with cash (bank), faster, 2-3day
If switch from portfolio, longer bcoz need to redeem, convert n buy.
Hope my guess is right 😀😀😀

Monday by 11am (if IBG) should be reach SAMY. SAMY cannot buy bcos MMF cut off time is 10am (refer FSM)
Tuesday Q to buy MMF. Need to wait for Tuesday closing on NAV price.
Wednesday will update the buy order of MMF.

in total need 3 working day.

Means you withdraw almost your entire portfolio but leaving just a small amount inside?
Cannot avoid the decreased profit but can avoid the withdrawal rejection by withdrawing the entire portfolio instead of a sum.
Just create a new same portfolio for deposit later.

What's the best way to maximise returns for SAMY Simple?

Just lump sum and let it sit there 1 year

or

Lump sump small amount, and transfer to SAMY portfolio bit by bit until habis then lump sump again next month?

Which doesnt make sense right? full withdrawal means you withdraw whatever is in the portfolio regardless of what the value is when the instruction to sell reaches the broker. so how can it be insufficient? If he said partial withdrawal then understandable but he said he did a full withdrawal.

maybe, just maybe...
if one just has GBP 100 to sell....that GBP value is not the minimum require to transact for the broker....
(as per his story in the post)??
so most probably have to wait for other sellers of GBP portfolios so can accumulate into an above the minimum transact amount.

I think it's because they have domestic ringgit borrowing. Hence SA unable to open a USD denominated portfolio for them.

SA is also getting inconsistent and slow in time to deposit compared to my previous experience. Although cant fault them they did say 2-3 business days and anything faster is just your lucky day.
