It is not about SA having live data. No one need that. SA need to update after the market close. For a company that boast about tech, robo and shit, they need to at least make the update automated ,obviously after the market close.

Especially in USD. If we can track it in yahoo so easily there is no real reason it can't be done in stashaway.

No point to see real time.
After put in the money, they spend one day to covert to usd, one day later only they trade.
Difficult to time the market as they don't buy etf immediately.

As my fund to them through Jompay take abt 24 hours for them to confirm SA received the money.... Before they can starts the process as mentioned by you

I'm still finding another way and learning to invest in US market directly.

Just SA is the only channel regulated by SC Msia and easiest way to deposit fund that can invest in US market now.
It's my first time invest in ETF. Still learning..

If you want regulated ETFs in Malaysia that invest in US market exposure there is but very limited exposure and heavy to certain thematic iinm only 8 but their performance and tracking is horrible

The only way to invest directly in US ETFs and low expense ratio and commission you would have to go through overseas brokerage like Tiger, IBKR, TSG, Saxo etc but beware of the commission and fees which is only worth it if your buying at USD50k onwards

Otherwise you can setup and buy direct ETFs from a certain ETFs but however the will be minimum investment and holding time

Can try Tiger and Moomoo if you trade in small amount.

Hi sifus, heard from my friend about SA then found this thread. I always try to research 1st before getting into anything I'm unsure so I planned to read everything here but lol really taking long time ... I read from page 1 to 157 already... wondering how much info is there haha..

Summary what I get is, go in, DCA, wait 5 years ... that's basically it right? haha ... I'll try to go tru all pages phew

b4 start make sure u got emergency fund first ( 6 month expenses at least )

find anybody referral link (use ur frien ) to sign up

decide the amount that u can invest (at least rm100, bcoz lower than that cant see the effect, up to u)

decide the SRI u want, suggest high risk if u r young ppl, if the RISK offer to u is too low, just WhatsApp CS to open for u

DCA monthly/weekly, stick to the plan and dont panic with the market volatility .

long term holding, at the starting , sure kejap profit, kejap loss....

and the last one is WELCOME.

Maybe I will say, don’t plan on spending the investment money anytime soon.

Personally I will also say make sure you have insurance.

My redemption from SA Simple from 10th till now still processing...I know they'd be slow, but this can be too slow for comfort sometimes. I know I can do it faster through different route, but this is the way I'm sticking to, so just sayin', I wished they won't take more than a week for this route

This is why Simple is useless because the underlying fund management by EastSpring is too slow for redemption compared to AHAM/Versa or Principal/GO+

That the down side of Simple. Process depends on stashaway and East spring. So, u just need b passion 😂.

With weekends and public holidays it can take a calendar week or longer, if you/Eastspring/StashAway transact after cutoff time(s) for respective services.

Future users should be aware of the withdrawal time for Simple before deciding whether Simple is appropriate for their needs and goals.
