I read in another thread that crytho is not a legal tender in malaysia. Thus I think they will not want to add in something that is not a legal which may hv complications with their business license on malaysia

based on observation, SAMY are relatively conservative traders, so unless they see solid data that can convince them to invest in BTC, they most likely won't put it in their products

The TLDR version of government stance on crypto+digital gold is that

1) it's not recognised as legal tender (i.e. can't use it as official medium of payment)
2) it's NOT illegal (means they allow you to trade/invest/mine crypto)

no indication that it'll be banned in Malaysia so far

They have mentioned several times in their weekly market commentary that, despite they are open to crypto industry as a whole, they won't invest directly into certain crypto currency such as bitcoins.

Following their market commentary gives me confidence in continuing my investment in SA, as their ideology is quite similar to mine. I would be very disappointed if somehow they add bitcoin into their portfolio.

The day SA mix BTC and equity for the higher risk is the day i take out my investment. Unless it is just 1 to 5 % maybe i dont really mind.

Or maybe split 20% GLD to 10% GLD and 10% BTC?

this only hear when BTC rise. If included since the crash on 2017, everyone will be cursing on why BTC in the portfolio.
Anyway, if want to buy BTC, can do so from 3 approved exchange by SC.

If they really listed BTC on stashaway, i will exit from SA due to BTC got no solid justification on why up and down.

I am not a proponent of crypto. Will not until one legitimate government accepts it as legal tender.

As such. By advising folks to keep less than 5% allocation at all times, I think they are telling you to play far far.

https://dcabtc.com even if we start DCA at the highest peak of BTC of 2017, we would have made a positive return after 2 years. Gold performed poorly and dropped 40 to 50% from 2011 to 2016 too.

BTC is very volatile so you can't have too much in your portfolio, 0.5% to 2% makes sense. Anyway this is out of topic.

Why are they even talking about Bitcoin when they even offer such product?  hmm.gif

Here's how you can responsibly manage bitcoin in your portfolio: https://bit.ly/38t2BeX

I suspect they use the extra cash if overweight to invest in a BTC fund but when the market swings too quickly it is crazy because within a week those who trade upwards will get the position wipe out within a week

BTC Fund most will be swapped with VNQI but I still think they are unable to find BTC fund that is stable enough

Buying crypto, at the best is like buying currency. Which already is something I'm not going to dabble also.

Imagine Stashaway suddenly offer USD / GBP / Forex "investing". I'm also first to run away.

If your 5% makes 100% in a year, then it only gives you 5% out of the overall portfolio. But if you lose most of it, say left only 1.5% of the portfolio, you will lose 3.5% per annum, and it sours the overall portfolio.

Looking at this, I'd rather they do a currency hedging.

This is the TWR and MWR calculation. The actual data required for the calculation only available internally to them. Unless someone very rajin go do manually by extracting the data somewhere else.
