Been streaming Netflix for years. No throttling issue whatsoever
What kind of streaming service are you talking about?
*
hmm.... those small sites like vidlox, cloudvid, vshare.eu etc. They use mp4 format, so dl and stream both kena throttle like crazy sad.gif

Have you tried using an Ethernet cable while streaming instead of WiFi?

i'm on ethernet, and 300mbps turbo unifi. DL mostly have 200+ mbit, youtube almost never buffer, but when it comes to streaming from these sites, it goes at 100+ kbps. LOL.

hey guys, did you guys notice Unifi still throttling mp4 streaming and downloading?

I have been getting throttled especially at night when streaming mp4s since years ago, but didnt care cos I'm not avid stream watcher, until now.

I used ExpressVPN and still doesn't seem to get past this Unifi throttle.... any idea how to circumvent it?
*
Yes, already long time ago they throttled the speed, I thought i felt alone either i'm using streamyx or unifi. Usually I watched on morning session 8am until 2pm, after 2pm above until 11.30pm, quite unstable speed. Sometimes normal, sometimes really hard to watch it, even i'm using the internet alone during that time. Either by wired or wifi, still same condition, not using stock router. ipv6 disabled, already changed any other dns server. What i'm doing, watch on that time or after 12am and finding any other website that related to online stream.

Good(?) to know I'm not the only one.... One thing I don't understand is even with ExpressVPN encryption, I'm still unable to circumvent the throttle. Only at these areas TM is doing superb in their job.... gosh.

Agreed with you, fellow ambassador. smile.gif

Come to think of it, maybe he's the one getting remunerated for his efforts.

Server outside Asia get low speed is quite normal... hmm.gif
Dont count on cdn from those website normally also not good for tm unifi.(See reddit or some other popular website using famous cdn,but not suitable for unifi)
Which server u connect when u streaming those website.
Have you tried their chrome extension without using their software vpn?
From my experience from Purevpn, those extension vpn have a different server with the software vpn.
(Like singapore, purevpn extension based having leaseweb server, but software based dont have leaseweb server.
and also extension based always give me almost 95% speed of original isp speed, but software based only less than 30%)
U might also try the cloudflare warp (without warp plus).(free for non-plus)

Yeah, I think so too. Because in the TIME Fibre thread*, there's someone who will actually benefit from his knowledge. Tagged him but he hasn't replied. I guess he's only interested in rebuttals.

*TIME Fibre thread OP wants to sign up for Unifi and terminate when TIME is available in a few months. Plans to rely on TIME's RM500 rebate to offset TM's termination fees.

TIME and Maxis has since stopped the RM500 rebate to attract TM customers to switch to them ever since they found out TM quietly changed their termination policy to remaining 24 mths contract from just 1-off RM500 payment.

TM is the bad guy here. Consumers beware, this untrusted company has been dishonest ever since Streamyx days. Their brand promotion motto on their vans which ask consumers to "TRUST US" is prove that they're very guilt conscious over their own marketing.

To be fair, I think it is incompetence rather than malicious intent to defraud customers. The thing I cannot tahan is that once they they know there is a problem, they don't fix the problem but allow the hole to get bigger and bigger ... that is until the authorities/Minister calls them out, and then only they act.

LOL their plans are always changing and being replaced. So confusing that their own lower level staffs including branch managers aren't aware of what is happening.
Take for example their Unifi Air launch, some of their branch managers don't even know it is in existence until later few weeks when people started asking over the counter about it.
Sometimes their customers even know better or more upto date then their own staffs.

I would say the GLC company itself is overstaffed. We all know the reason why. The keep unemployment levels low. laugh.gif

Further edit:

It's a pattern, the TM ambassadors only comment during working hours, they seem to tone down after work hours and on weekends. hmm.gif

Don't think can get anything much better soon. Have you noticed much difference? Normal usage should  be the same. Should have no penalty, but check next bill carefully anyway.

I went from 5mbps to 10mbps to 30 then 100 now 30.

So it really doesnt affect me much. I think I can live with 30 easily.

Even video streaming I also do 720p/1080p only. Most TV box streaming use only 2-5mbps per stream. 30 is more than enough anyway.

Hi ,

I just wondering is this promo thingy worth us to optin while letting them to renew our contract to 24 months, are's T&C on new contract specific rule that if future subscription fees gonna drop on the next year 2020, whoever already optin would have to bear with what the old price instead of enjoying any additional discount in future?
