Some night view from Shibuya Sky yesterday.

I felt like Japan New Year sales really no joke. Yesterday went to Skechers shop. 1st pair of shoe will be normal price but already reduce price like 2k yen less then the following pairs all 50% less. End up total 4 pairs for me & my sis. 10500 yen for 4 pairs of shoes.

Japan sales is like real sale promo. Not like our Megasale mark up 90% then sale discount 50%.

My bro was tempted to buy a bargain discounted pair of Nikes (not yet release in MY), but he got no size. Compared with similar, even GPO cannot get this price.

should I

a) change around 50k yen and others just swipe using my debit card
b) change my allocated budget all to yen and just pay cash for everything

because some shops eg: yodobashi can pay using visa and get extra 5% discount

Felt like going at 3pm, then leave at night

Hahaha but Kobe only can get in Japan. While wagyu I generally find it much cheaper in Aussie, even got to eat Wagyu burger in Sydney for RM40.

Yup is 2000 yen. Queue time to take the lift to the top almost 30mins. There got a lot of sofa on the roof. If manage to grab a sit then can sitting there relax & wait till night.

“Wagyu” from Australia, US, etc is quite meaningless. Lots of producers import a cow from Japan and crossbreed it god knows how many times with local cattle and then still sell it as “wagyu” anyway. You need to do a lot of research about brand names / producers to filter out the gems from the trash.

For example Cold Storage sells lots of unbranded “Aussie wagyu” steak cuts here that have shit marbling and suck donkey ass. On the other hand, top notch producers like Blackmore (who breeds full blood Japanese kuroge cattle), their meat can easily rival anything coming out of Japan except the top producers (Kobe/Matsusaka/Ohmi etc)

Nice place really.... The are speed bumps / humps purposely built slow you down. Sad to note too that D Racing Garage cum café which houses the Initial D like Café at the foot of Mount Haruna was broken and vandalised recently. The rims of the display cars were stolen and their cars broken into.

Yeap, snowboard at Hakuba today, pretty much sucks. Super crowded at Hakuba47 as most of their courses are opened (others are barely operational), crazy wait time for chair lifts, etc. Morning still ok, powdery snow but later in the afternoon, basically it’s like ice skating down the slope. lots of ppl fell and rolled down the slope, while their snowboard become detached and become an unguided missile laugh.gif

Err... no comment, as whatever "wagyu" that I ate is still much better than the expensive beefs I have eaten in Malaysia. I'm no foodie expert so I probably can't tell "real" wagyu that cost 2-3X more than "non-ori" wagyu. Next I probably will wanna try Angus beef.

I read the speedbumps were put up after the popularity of ID soared to prevent further Takumi copycats. Apparently, authorities figured out when finding too many damaged crash barriers. Obviously not everyone can dorifto and a very real concern on some untalented idiots will eventually end up at the bottom of the mountain.

Train is probably easier but some places are slightly closer by bus like Kinkakuji.
No pass needed, just use your IC card.

yes, just use IC card

tip: use google map (for station to station). it gives the ETA and pricing. so be wise to choose based on that
