Hi let say we purchase fuji hakone 3 day which complementary train from shinjuku up to odawara station. If we get romance car from shinjuku up to hakone yumoto station instead of odawara which regular ticket (Shinjuku-odawara ticket) will burn ? tq

Would like to ask we will be renting a car for the whole 14 days in hokkaido.
We plan to head to sapporo and stay for three nights to catch cherry blossom. Is this sufficient time or should we spend extra day?

Our third day plan to head to otaru. Is it better to drive or take train there? Will be a day trip unless worthwhile to stay there

Thanks

Hi everyone!

Not sure if this is the right place to post; but I have 2 x 1 day hankyu line pass to sell.

For more info: https://www.klook.com/en-PH/activity/1512-h...wE&gclsrc=aw.ds

I bought & collected the pass during my trip to Osaka in September this year to travel to Kyoto but we ended up not going. So just trying to sell it off for cheap - it expires in April 2020.

PM me if anyone is interested! biggrin.gif

On our two weeks Hokkaido trip, we arranged to pickup rental car on the day we arrived, and immediate drove out of Sapporo. Returned after ~10 days and returned the car. After that, spent few days in Sapporo and a day-trip train to Otaru. Our opinion and plan is we do not need a car in Sapporo city and Otaru. We spend the last few days in Sapporo rather than in the beginning due to not going to carry all the stuff to buy and tour around Hokkaido.
Parking in Sapporo costs $ while most (if not all) outside are free parking. Also less few days car rental cost.

Thanks for the feedback.
We are landing on 12 may
According to forecast it should be blooming a week before. Hence why we need to be in sapporo.

The alternative would be the rent the car when we are leaving sapporo.

Would it be possible to share your itinerary any tips would be useful.
Plan to visit hakodate, norobeitsu, biei furano

Either way works, problem for us is, if we land in Sapporo and do shopping first, we have to carry in the car for the rest of the trip.
We also don't want land in Sapporo, then go out, then come back to Sapporo again. It's like waste time for the beginning/ending, in-between of nowhere rclxub.gif
So we choose to go out when land, then return car and spend the remaining few days in Sapporo+Otaru w/o car.

We did a bigger loop kind of west-east-west only. Did not able to cover north (Wakkanai), south-east and south-west (Hakodate)

Our itenarary
Sapporo - Asahikawa - Asahidake (ropeway) - Abashiri - Shaari - Shiretoko - Asahikawa - Biei - Furano - Noboribetsu - Lake Toya - Sapporo
return car
Sapporo - Otaru - Sapporo - Chitose

That would be almost all around Hokkaido already. Hakodate is South, Noboribetsu is in central while Biei and Furano is in the East.Unless you have a lot of days there, I would suggest you keep your travel to a few nearby cities and attractions. Car rental would be more suited to if you are travelling to outskirts. Like mentioned, if you plan to go around Sapporo/Otaru and Chitose, then bus/train would be good enough.

Curious, are you allowed to bring painkiller into Japan? I read that it is considered illegal substance in some countries.

Yes. You will be running all around touch and go at most attractions and spend time driving to the next. Suggest you plan around central and south side or central and east side.

I brought Panadol into Japan. Also brought other meds like Actal, Imodium, and Loratadine. No issues with their customs.

For those that take airasia to Haneda airport, how do you commute to Tokyo station? The monorail ends quite early.
