QUOTE(senscents @ May 21 2023, 03:33 PM) Guys, The router tplink Archer C1200 provided by time is acting up. 😑 Router keep disconnecting/powering down every few days, need to reboost a few times if that happen. This router is known for this problem. Do I need to buy a new router or do time provide a new set? What do you recommend for a 500Mbps plan? 😊 Get yourself a new router by buying from network/computer shops.... dont' b fooled by recontract & eventually getting craps again. |

QUOTE(LA773 @ May 24 2023, 08:24 AM) Sifu, My house layout look almost exactly like yours. And also same positioning for the router on the X mark (the crappy Huawei one provided by TIME). The signal is not so good from my master bedroom. The provided mesh also not helpful and keep disconnecting. Hoping to have a better range with this rt-ax1800hp.I have the same question, gonna install TIME 500mb next week with the same house layout, bought this Asus model rt-ax1800hp high gain antenna. If i put it at point X, should be able to reach master bedroom? 😁 ![]() jjj2 liked this post

The technician will tell us to check, but obviously the issue wont happen at that moment. Btw, when the TIME guy come install, they wont check connection inside master bedroom? |

QUOTE(NovaPrime @ May 21 2023, 05:48 PM) If you want TIME to provide you a new router, u need to re-contract with them. Most of us will just go buy our own router it is quite cheap for wifi 6 router right now. You can look for Mercusys MR80x which I'm currently using, easily get 500mbps with WIFI 6 supported devices. You can get Mercusys MR80x at Shopee within price range of RM203 - 229 Blacktubi review : https://www.blacktubi.com/review/mercusys-mr80x/ QUOTE(jjj2 @ May 24 2023, 02:43 PM) Thanks for the advise on the mr-80x.Are there any better router like archer ax-53 that provide higher WiFi performance and further wifi distance with 2 walls apart? |

Getting the 500Mbps installed tomorrow.
Any tips for a first time TIME user in terms of installation, testing etc? From my understanding reading through the last few pages, it is advisable to get a third party router and mesh to replace the ones provided by TIME. Do I need to replace 2 or just the router is enough? |

QUOTE(jjj2 @ Feb 9 2023, 10:58 PM) Hi Bro, try this. Sadly my router doesn't have this option.![]() Go to Advanced > Maintenance Diagnostic > Reboot *Again, not guarantee it will always work on all version of firmware, as it has been modified for telco-specific. What is your router model and firmware version? Maybe i can try flashing onto it it is the same ones. |

I will suggest 2 units of RT-AX1800HP with second unit in Bedroom 1Else the speed won't be too great but it should be at least more usable |

Got my internet set up today.
All done within 20 minutes. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Initially the router was placed at the living room TV area and the mesh was placed in Bedroom 2. This set up resulted in weak connection in the Master Bedroom. Moved the Mesh to Bedroom 1 and the connection is much better now. In terms of speed, random testing yields the following results: - Living Room ~500Mbps - Bedroom 2 ~400Mbps - Bedroom 1 ~200Mbps - Master Bedroom ~170Mbps I think the performance is alright. Will a third party mesh able to boost the performance in the Bedroom 1 and Master Bedroom? |

QUOTE(blacktubi @ May 21 2023, 06:05 PM) Can confirm this router is much better than HG8145X6, even the older C1200's range is better than the free Wi-Fi 6 router from Time. It look like my house 🤣🤣🤣Visited a friend staying in a 1200 sqft condo recently. The further master bedroom get pretty much unusable coverage with the free router. For anyone staying in property with this kind of layout, good router or mesh is a must. |
