Just got Time internet installed yesterday. I seem to have the HG8145X6 modem/router installed. The wifi coverage doesn't really do well with the inner walls.

How do i use my own router? My previous setup was HG8240H5(unifi) + DIR885L.

Can i just get the PPOE credentials of my Time account and use it on the old modem?

Contact TIME to change your HG8145X6 from combo mode into just modem/ont mode
then just plug in your dlink router and enter PPPoE credentials.

I just upgraded from 100mbps unifi to 500mbps time with free mesh.. previously using Tenda MW3 mesh router 2 unit..my whole house got stable 100mbps..

But with time huawei mesh router, placed at exact spot i put my tenda mesh.. it cannot even get 100mbps, not to say 500mbps.. is the huawei mesh just not as powerful? What is the good upgrade to ensure i get a steady 500mbps in whole house?

now i have 2 wifi userid and speedtest up to my expecatation

Can confirm this router is much better than HG8145X6, even the older C1200's range is better than the free Wi-Fi 6 router from Time.

Visited a friend staying in a 1200 sqft condo recently. The further master bedroom get pretty much unusable coverage with the free router. 

For anyone staying in property with this kind of layout, good router or mesh is a must.

Hello all, the provided Huawei HG8145X6 is driving me nuts with the random frequent disconnection, and poor coverage.

Thought of replacing it with a better router. Is this router good enough for my TIME 500mbps. High rise residential but more on the lower ground (4th floor). 900 sq. ft. Appreciate all the kind feedbacks and inputs.

My house layout look almost exactly like yours. And also same positioning for the router on the X mark (the crappy Huawei one provided by TIME). The signal is not so good from my master bedroom. The provided mesh also not helpful and keep disconnecting. Hoping to have a better range with this rt-ax1800hp.

Time got any promotion now? MY unifi plan expired and plan change to Time.

The mesh installed in my master bedroom. I took it down since it keep disconnecting all the time. The technician will tell us to check, but obviously the issue wont happen at that moment.

Hi, I've just installed TIME. And I'm used to changed the LAN IP address to another set. But it seems like it has some problem with this round. After updated, I couldn't login to the router by using the new gateway IP address nor the default gateway IP address. Would like to know from sifus here where is there anything I could do? Thanks.

[Update] I've tried accessing it again using another notebook and it was successful this time. I think my another notebook is blocking the access.

My first month bill did get the promo credited but had a weird pro-rated period causing a ~RM25 bill

there's a billing date assign to your account when you schedule your installation date

that's right.... it's paid 1 month in advanced

My TIME broadband contract already expired, and even with the promo they are offering, I'm on the fence to migrate to uMobile for lower price with same speed.

Just received a call from TIME customer rep, he suggest to wait until January because TIME will announce new offer for loyal customer, but I'm still skeptical tho, but probably worth the wait, TIME internet so far give me very little headache, like no drama at all like maxis, unifi in my previous experience.

Looking here for best way to get seamless transition if I decided to migrate later.

If you downgrade within the contract period, yes the contract will be reset.

I am on time fibre broadband 24 months contract for 500Mbps plan and this is my 2nd month of usage.

I had enjoyed one month free subscription so far due to online sign up promotion and I am paying rm99 for the remaining 5 months so about rm40 savings per month from the original price of rm139.

If assume I used finished until 6th month and cancelled the line, I would had already enjoyed rm139 + rm40 x 5 of savings for 500Mbps plan = rm339.

If I terminate the line at 6th month I will be paying rm500 one time termination fee.

Rm500 - rm339 = rm161 exact loss I had incurred.

My plan is to sign the u mobile rm79 100Mbps instead.

So for this case, is it worth this move? Becos rm79 per month even consider just 2 years of usage if assume I also used time broadband for complete 2 years due to contract, I still save quite a bit.

but i am paying rm99 only for 1st 6 months and 1st month is free.

so technically i pay rm400 penalty since i had one month free on 1st month.

so saving of rm480 - rm400 = rm80 so in long run it is still a saving... 

but saw one killing tnc under the faq.. it said that during the contract period cannot even relocate the service (wtf), else need to pay penalty.



i think like that, i may opt to downgrade my plan to rm99 100Mbps after 6th month of my current plan... while remaining under time fibre..

That's why I switched my family home to Maxis, at least I got decent customer service and someone with some technical knowledge will call me to address complains regarding routing and actually fix it.

Meanwhile TIME said it's out of their control as it's due to their upstream provider. They do not guarantee international connectivity.

It's been a year and there's still around 30% packet loss to many China sites from TIME's network. Taobao.com is a good example.

100mbps still not getting the free upgrade speed boost to 200mbps yet..

I asked the CS, one say till 14 April 2024 or 2 months, some site 7 April... (Although contact TIME cs if not getting after the "period")
