Replying to old post but just got TIME installed today and also have the same issue

VPN works, mobile data works, but not on time
Tried Cloudflare and Quad9 DNS

Same error of
ERR_HTTP2_PROTOCOL_ERROR

Also, gamerant.com and cbr.com don't load for me with the same error

Poking around, it seems like all those sites are hosted on Amazon AWS, so something related to that.

NO problem loading gamerant.com but cbr.com is kinda slow... probably it's routing issue...

Face this problem last time. Are you using two routers?

Guys, The router tplink Archer C1200 provided by time is acting up. 😑

Router keep disconnecting/powering down every few days, need to reboost a few times if that happen.

Do I need to buy a new router or do time provide a new set? What do you recommend for a 500Mbps plan? 😊

If you want TIME to provide you a new router, u need to re-contract with them. Most of us will just go buy our own router it is quite cheap for wifi 6 router right now. You can look for Mercusys MR80x which I'm currently using, easily get 500mbps with WIFI 6 supported devices.

You can get Mercusys MR80x at Shopee within price range of RM203 - 229

Can confirm this router is much better than HG8145X6, even the older C1200's range is better than the free Wi-Fi 6 router from Time.

Visited a friend staying in a 1200 sqft condo recently. The further master bedroom get pretty much unusable coverage with the free router. doh.gif

For anyone staying in property with this kind of layout, good router or mesh is a must.

got ethernet port for every room?

if tarak, better plan and install before move in.

no need conceal the lan cable, just route it via false ceiling (or make L-box for eyeball light) and go in room on the non-rc wall (which is the side of wall that have door).

don't underestimate the RC wall…don't say 900sqft, even 700sqft if router not good the masterbedroom can't get stable signal after close the door.

1 reinforced concrete wall is enough to reduce 40% of your 5GHz signal

2 walls + some wall shelf then you'll be left with a barely usable 2.4GHz signal

Plan ahead and get mesh Wi-Fi, even a cheap used Deco M4 can deliver 100Mbps reliably

Sadly, normally developers for smaller properties like this not so generous.

As for my friend's case, using mesh Wi-Fi is cheaper since the property already comes with basic reno. Hacking it will be more expensive.

IMO, installing a ceiling mounted AP at the walkway leading to the bedrooms is the best solution, one unit should be enough to cover the whole property.

normally ppl will install the ONU and router at X point there.

ceiling mounted AP at the walkway of course is the best solution, but normally walkway don't have any power point, unless tap the wire from walkway light point, or maybe put a PoE adapter in bedroom 1 and route the lan cable to walkway lor.

another solution will be install a mesh unit at Y point wall, drill a hole and pull electric cable from bedroom 1 or masterbedroom.

user posted image

nicer solution will be make a electric point at O point and put a wall shelf there (O point normally isn't RC wall, can drill hole thru it, just find the shortest way tap electric from masterbedroom without hacking wall, use 2cm trunking or smaller like Ikea Montera trunking)

user posted image

pull the fiber like this can even no need use extra mesh unit if O point got power point and wall shelf.

Do developers now build reinforce concrete walls in condominiums ?
Maybe use cheaper sand bricks instead of clay bricks.

Many developers started using precast RC slab since few years back

They are faster to build than laying bricks

Oh yea, the load bearing walls are even worst for Wi-Fi signal

Hello all, the provided Huawei HG8145X6 is driving me nuts with the random frequent disconnection, and poor coverage.

Thought of replacing it with a better router. Is this router good enough for my TIME 500mbps. High rise residential but more on the lower ground (4th floor). 900 sq. ft. Appreciate all the kind feedbacks and inputs. icon_question.gif
