But you will pay RM 139 every month after the first 6 mth, instead of RM 119. You will also be paying RM139 after contract ends as well. Likely old users will still be paying old rates even after contract ends.

Saving is the same, both also save you RM240 for 2 years contract.
But as new account get you a free modem.

After 2 years, we expect broadband should be cheaper or faster anyhow.

Time didn't appreciate the long time user very much nowadays. I been using this TIME account since 2014.
I do feel reluctant to give away the seniority and start again as newbie, but free modem + RM240 + RM100 (for friend) is not a bad deal for the trouble.

Yes, they don't care when you already be their subscribers. The loyalty program is only applicable for those who are at 20 or above months in each contract period and it is NOT counted from since joined...

Because gather new subscribers can only increase their earnings but at the same time, existing clients lari also even before contract is expired.

TIME has upgraded the back end line. Now running on my existing equiopment.

My Room PC - WIFI AC - 24xMbps
My Phone (from my room) - Wifi AC - 24xMbps
Another Room (closer to router) - WIFI AC - 300Mbps
Wired PC - 500Mbps

Later after TIME upgraded the equipment, i will test again and feedback here.

Update:

I have a question. If i still setup a 2.4Ghz for old equipment, will it interfere with the 5Ghz Wifi band? I think i have found occasion where something funny happens, phone connected to 2.4Ghz wifi and it actually interferes with my PC badly. Once all join back to 5Ghz, no problem.
*
u should just simply separete ssid for both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz, then only connect ur devices to 5Ghz, then no such prob...

Yes I also bought one wifi 5 mesh node at discounted price and I bought 2 x more same model of nodes to use with it from Carousell. So far so good. Whole mesh system (tri-band) not too costly and I can get pretty good speed and coverage that no blind spot at my house.

Hahaha...nice move cool2.gif
Actually i dont care the wifi speed that much, as long it is not sloppy and choppy, i am live with old wifi 5 for now
as long my pocket not wounded badly drool.gif

But seriously getting 1Gbps on mobile device is not useful at all, what can one do much on their mobile devices? If on PCs, maybe one can still argue that it is useful for downloading super huge files etc…

I had used 1Gbps plan before I can only it is overkilled for me (at least). I would rather spend the least on the max speed I can enjoy most of the time.

🤪

I use the 1Gbps to download Linux ISOs biggrin.gif
You know the drills...downloading fried prawn cookies and stuffs

I am using dedicated direct cable connect to my server to do the download stuffs, so i am sort of using the internet speed wisely

unifi has actually treated the old customers better. they have the SWU programme for existing customers who recontract to get higher speed with lower price. and with the two free speed upgrades and price reduction so far... many users had benefited a lot.. which most are paying as low as rm119 for 500Mbps plan... some special cases even paying cheaper...

ic.. ya i know... friendly version... tongue.gif

but seriously unless one really does it 24x7 then can fully utilise the speed... and if one really 24x7 download at such speed, u need a lot a lot a lot of storage to keep those stuff. tongue.gif ended up higher cost on storage instead...

yeah... speed is just one factor, more importantly latency and stability... tongue.gif

actually not exactly becos they are famous... actually unifi is also more attractive and the network is actually better than time also. tongue.gif only advantage about time is that their upload speed is higher than unifi on the same speed of plan.

so if one has both time and unifi coverage, also can consider to switch to unifi.

for my case, i am stuck becos the apartment i stay only has time as option... sad.gif

You speak of my heart...yeah i need lots of storage rclxub.gif And i am doing backup to cloud as well, hence the download & upload is ongoing 24/7

True, so far i have decent performance from the old man AC68U, despite being old, but still solid enough

haha... i know that becos i was on 1Gbps plan before... download is super fast... a linux ISO image download is only within seconds... tongue.gif

most of the time i was dealing with storage issues... so i had many many TBs of hardisks i had brought..
but i had quitted from it... else the money to buy new storage will be endless.. tongue.gif plus the fact that unless i am buying SSDs which are even more ex... else if using the mechanical one, the chance for it to fail can be high too.. tongue.gif

Hello, anyone here that previously got the EchoLife EG8145V5 router/modem from TIME? If I wanna use another router, will the EchoLife EG8145V5 act as a modem rather than a router? Sorry not really familiar with routers and modems.

It is a combo 2 in one modem router

Just ask TIME CS to change it over to modem mode for you and then you can connect your own router

I think it is unfair to have 30 days notice period sedangkan early termination is compounded with RM500, but still need to wait 30 days.

If everyone boycotts not to sign any package with contract, I believe the consequences will be the Meddi or StaBuc

100Mbps Plan
Contract Period:
02 March 2022 - 01 March 2024

TIME offer 500Mbps at RM119/month.
QUOTE
Pay only RM20 more per month when you upgrade to 500Mbps. We’ll even throw in, not one, but TWO free WiFi 6 mesh devices to enhance your WiFi experience!
What will happen if I don't sign the 24-month contract renewal or upgrade?
No internet next month?

Since it is common practice for unifi, I find it a prob.

If time follows the rest to charge remaining months of subscriptions instead of rm500 fixed penalty only I wlll be more worried.

Speed on wifi 5 mesh…

I think I will stick to my 500Mbps contract for 2 years before I consider to switch plan. After all the lowest plan I can switch to is rm99 100Mbps. Which my 500Mbps is average at rm129 per month for 2 years.

Rm30 difference but 4x speed although I did not really utilise but seems to be ok. Anyway nowadays, rm30 is really nothing and so small that one cannot do much with it.

nvm ignore. i misread the model and this is just a 1gbps router and not the 2.5gbps router lol

U must see if ur apartment support 2Gbps plan I think. Not all apartment support it. If supported, once they come to install for u it will be up almost immediately.
