TIME has upgraded the back end line. Now running on my existing equiopment.

My Room PC - WIFI AC - 24xMbps
My Phone (from my room) - Wifi AC - 24xMbps
Another Room (closer to router) - WIFI AC - 300Mbps
Wired PC - 500Mbps

Later after TIME upgraded the equipment, i will test again and feedback here.

Update:

I have a question. If i still setup a 2.4Ghz for old equipment, will it interfere with the 5Ghz Wifi band? I think i have found occasion where something funny happens, phone connected to 2.4Ghz wifi and it actually interferes with my PC badly. Once all join back to 5Ghz, no problem.

Mine one is Huawei Optixstar HG8145X6 without -10. Yours one has 10 stated?

The MESH is not as good as TP-link. Sometimes I am nearby the 2nd unit and it is still connected to the main unit whereby my phone WIFI signal is not full.
I can't wait to get it cancelled, but still has 27 days to go...look like a long waiting days!
*
I not so sure abt mine..as I did not use the mesh setup at all. Later i check the box and update you.

During the Time installer setup, i requested to use my own asus router, so he just setup one of the Huawei router only.

Yes, you needed to wait for 30 days, same thing happened to mine when I submit my termination request to Unifi. It feels like half year LOL laugh.gif

One thing for sure the Mesh won't be as good as those 3rd party mesh setup. Go for custom solutions if you really wanted a good wifi signal coverage

I have just signed up a renewal contract with TIME and upgraded to 500mbps package.  I thought of getting a vertical type (due to space limiting issue) router, such as Asus RT-AX86U Pro or TP-link Archer BE805.  Any sifu here using it now? Any feedback on which one should i take? Furthermore, does the TIME mesh node that comes FOC can be linked to the abovementioned model router?
Go for TP-link Archer BE805. You will need to request the Installer to configure it ONT given to bridge mode, and your Router will perform the PPPOE dialing.

Thanks for your explanation, but it seems too technical for me to understand it.  But I will get the installer to do what you have advised me.  By the way, currently I'm still using the Huawei Echolife HG8042H GPON Terminal as modem, do i still need to use this Huawei device after installing the TP Link BE805 router? Or the installer will replace a new modem for me?  Thanks again for the advice again.
If you are using the HG8240H5 ONU, then you can choose to maintain it & have your BE805 Router to dial the PPPOE.

Wah Lau...

Wireless performance is a little worse across all, especially upload speed.

I tested in my room, then came out, the technician already smiled and say "Speed drop?". Guess he already know. doh.gif

I will use it a while and see how it goes.

My old TPLINK AC1900 also better.... bangwall.gif

For my case, i am using 1Gbps plan with my own asus wifi 6 router. and my phone is Samsung S22 Ultra, i can get 925Mbps download and 497Mbps upload.

As for the mesh, I can hit 530Mbps download and 209 upload

So if your line is 500M, and give your router & device are WiFi 6, should be able to achieve max speed ( and of course you need to stand in front of the router to hit max speed with wifi)

Yes I also bought one wifi 5 mesh node at discounted price and I bought 2 x more same model of nodes to use with it from Carousell. So far so good. Whole mesh system (tri-band) not too costly and I can get pretty good speed and coverage that no blind spot at my house.

But seriously getting 1Gbps on mobile device is not useful at all, what can one do much on their mobile devices? If on PCs, maybe one can still argue that it is useful for downloading super huge files etc…

I had used 1Gbps plan before I can only it is overkilled for me (at least). I would rather spend the least on the max speed I can enjoy most of the time.

One suprise. My son's Room WIFI has improved. He is using this GIGABYTE AORUS 450-I PRO motherboard with builit in Wifi. I check specs also WIFI AC only, not AX, but from 300Mbps previously now can reach almost 450Mbps...his room nearer to router. So i guess not all is bad. Also my Nintendo Switch can finally connect to the 5Ghz wifi without tantrums. Previously won't work unless it set to a specific channel (20 or 40, can't remember).

Hmm, i wonder if i get newer Wifi USB dongle supporting AX can get better speed?

PCIe Wifi card is forever better than USB ones, most wifi 6 cards based on Intel AX200 are good

even on say, that Gigabyte board with built in wifi, you can actually replace the wifi card

(guide is for an asus board but it's all the same)

My contract end on 4-Apr for the 500 mbps package.

Is that possible for me to terminate my account on 5-Apr. Then sign up as new user?
With new sign up, then I get 6 months RM99 = discount ~ (6x40) ~ RM 240 + free modem also.

Edited:
On top, I could use referral code from a close friend to give him/her RM100.

But you will pay RM 139 every month after the first 6 mth, instead of RM 119. You will also be paying RM139 after contract ends as well. Likely old users will still be paying old rates even after contract ends.

This is what I had shared. 🤪

But to be fair, all the free wifi 6 mesh given by telcos all the same. The mesh wifi 6 router I got from unifi also same especially they are all dual-band.

ideally, if one can put in a mesh node inside their rooms where PCs are in, connecting them to the mesh node via wired, one can get full speed also even wifi cannot.

i am referring to mesh node (wireless backhaul somemore). of course between the mesh parent and child nodes must be within good coverage...

Something like this? I probably need to find one with low profile bracket as my case is low profile and very small (probably the smallest casing i know which still can accomodate a Micro-Atx board, size is like a PS4 but thicker).

I only use 1 router. The other one still in the box, later sell in Garage Sales. Lol.
