Just tested out my BigPay card on some usage for all reference.

1. Tried use Bigpay paywave function @ watson citta mall. can't detact.
2. ATM CIMB @ oasis square, no withdrawal option, tried instant transfer, not allowed.
3. ATM MBB @ oasis square, some atm can withdraw 30pcs RM100 note. just need to try.

Very strange all these reports.
Bigpay is a mastercard. I've rarely encounter any problems with any merchants as long as mastercard accepted, unless car rental etc that require credit not prepaid. ATM all can withdraw whether local or overseas (japan, china, Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore etc). Paywave I haven't tried (mine is old card) but even other credit card sometimes paywave fail (positioning etc). You do need to use your BP using pin first time before can paywave.

Bigpay has been a godsend for traveling. I don't go to midvalley line up change money anymore.

Paywave isn't working because you need to perform a PIN transaction first to enable the Paywave feature when you get your new card.

It's a credit card (prepaid credit card).

You mean merchants should teach their employees about prepaid cards and also upgrade their POS system to show prepaid cards on the system screen?

There's nothing wrong with the card, there's a "Prepaid" clearly showed on the card.

Usually most employees will just consider prepaid cards as debit cards, which there's no problem with that.

Amex or Visa, you swipe oversea sure incurred additional 2% to 2.5% cross border fee. That’s why use BigPay to avoid this.

I was talking about how much the bank charges the merchant for CC payment. Used to be 2-3% but Bank Negara has lowered the fee to about 0.6%...?

not much difference from market rate at that time last week... 0.0341..
i used bigpay for all the purchases... food, drinks, coffee, ice cream, market, shopping... but not the fuel stations though (i saw most were unmanned fuel stations..) maybe you can try if you go there...

Also not true. I'm a merchant as well. Charges depends on payment gateway.

Why would they ask such a question? My experience with BP after using it for so many times over the counter is that nobody has asked me that question before.

bigpay is NOT a credit card (credit = credit line/facility given by the bank)

just prepaid or debit card will do.

Why not just say "pakai kad"?

I guess it's self explanatory right? Cashiers will figure it out anyways, prepaid card = debit card

I've never experienced the time when I have to tell the cashier what kind of card I'm using to pay.

True that let cashier figure it out.

On a side note, not every prepaid card = debit card.
For example cimb lazada prepaid card is actually a credit card. It is stated in the Tnc of cimb to choose "credit card" when buying online. So yeah very confusing indeed all these terms 😂😂😂
