Nope... its not on my list. Will get the Note 9 and maybe before that the P20 Pro even though I don't really like EMUI. It has 3 cameras though.

I seen a reliable YouTuber video just now and he pointed that recently submitted patern by Samsung, it seems that s10 will have notch 😅😅😅

That'll be a major turn-off and looking at the amount of sensors there... It's gonna be a huge notch.

Edit: re-looked the patent photo. Looks more like a midrange phone than flagship.

What's with phones and notch? I wonder what will happen if Apple removes the notch in the next gen iPhones - will these guys still follow?

If they plan to put the notch then they must make sure face unlock is up to par with Apple's. Among all other phones that have notch nowadays, nothing that i found that can beat them

Why do we need face unlock?

I think it's a flagship phone with in screen finger print sensor...

x1, as well as the SC. quite decent protection, and keeping overall dimension slim and manageable in 1 hand

Agree, need some spigen tough amor, uag n otter case to protect.

For the free case can use at indoor to protect scratches but not for drop.

I'm have the UAG Plasma and Spigen Rugged Armor.

The UAG feels a lot more protective with ample clearance plus lip height fglass and yet not too wide to hamper one handed operation. It's thicker though.

Spigen Rugged Armor works better if there's no tempered glass. I've used 5 of these to date with other phones. They're quite protective and don't add too much bulk but may lift tempered glass and the matte finish wears off quite fast making it ugly over time.

Just play the S9+, to be honest I really like it and it feel smooth even the demo set.

Any known issue on this phone? Feel like want to grab it.

So if want better battery life, one can try snapdragon version which doesn't come with warranty right?

Warranty is more important over inconsequential differences. Besides.. as someone posted earlier... we've got fast chargers, car chargers, wireless chargers and fast charging powerbanks everywhere.

i manage to get 4h++ SOT from full charge, with WQHD+ display, GPS always on, mobile+wifi, and also some gaming and netflix.

for me that is a good battery performance already.

The whole issue is just about feeling tak syiok over snapdragon version being comparatively better this time round I suppose.


Come to think of it... if I really wanna get by the day without charging based on my usage pattern... I'll probably be needing a 7000mah battery built in.

the top 3 issues for S9/S9+ are:

1) S9 speaker phone cutting out on call
2) SD CARD ERROR ON S9+
3) Mobile HDR not enabled & Black crush

I only have problem with call drop. I don't use the SD card so I can't comment more about this. For item no. 3, I no even tested it yet. So far, tested with digi and maxis, both same problem. Means, no matter I call or receive call, call will disconnected for call within 10 minutes. Before the latest firmware update (ARCC), it drop more frequent if compare with the latest firmware update.

Some of the forumers I ask in Lowyat also have similar problem if you refer to V1 thread, but seem like no one take it seriously.

Have you consider possibility of hardware problem causing these call problems?? If it irritates you why don't you send in to check??

If you are already on the S8+, not so much changes to make the upgrade worthwhile. Note 9 is on the way already btw.

I am waiting for note 9. S8+ here. Then plan to keep note 8 and note 9

How bad is the battery life?

Everyone else got this problem? Especially for the 1st one - call drop.

I long ago selling off my S8+, using LG G6 now. Not interesting with Note series as I don't use S Pen.

The battery life is similar like S8+ and I have never encountered the call drop problem.

Of course its not gonna happen in a phone anytime soon. It's a point that a friend made when we're talking about S9+ only having 3500mah batt and P20 having 4000mah.

In my case that 500mah didn't matter as its just minutes of extra batt life. To really make a difference, I'll need at least double... so its back to powerbanks.

It's not bad per say.... it's just expectations vs reality

Most of those youtube drain test still has the exynos S9+ in the uppermost positions among flagships.

Never encountered call drop nor micro sd card issues.
So far best stylist designs, good stereo speakers, best camera especially on night mode, Atmos Dolby system with headphones, Animoji n many features.

Battery life on exynos better than sd 845.

Using dual SIM while roaming in Singapore, no games or navigation, just emails, web browsing and WhatsApp with occasional FB. Is this good or bad?

For me it is very good.

3 min/1% battery discharged.. seems bad considering ur usage does not seems like heavy usage
imagine if its heavy usage, 1 to 2 min/1%

im getting at least 4min/1% during note 3 era

so max usage around 5h sot based on ur usage pattern

I would say this is considered ok by android standards. Those who claim 7 - 8 hours battery life are usually those who stay put a place with wifi connected most of the time.

Nope, never have that issue

Oh, and forgot to mention, phone was on max power saving mode from 11pm - 7am, whereby it dropped from 100% to 95% even with both data and WiFi switched off. But yeah, Androids will be Androids.

That's odd. I tried the same after reading ur post. Power saving off, AOD on, WiFi and data on.... Basically as per usual use. Dropped 3% from 12am-7.20am.

s9+128 user:-

Upgrade from S7E ,using dual sim,the only one problem encounter on S9+ for me was the second sim whatapps no notification at all, hopefully is software bug.

That's only a con for those already running the s8. Personally I think refinement and ironing out the kinks is a good thing.

Yeah, I agree completely, the S9+ is what the S8+ should have been. The experience is smoother and more refined. Although I would not go as far as to convince a S8+ owner to upgrade.

now in recent app list. hold the app icon in the title bar then 'i' icon. or use 3rd party launcher like Nova.

Using S8 and thinking how to retrieve my S9+ 128gb from penang.

When in app info, i press back, it go to apps installed screen, not fo back to home screen like app info on home screen.
