Before. You need to fill in the KF account no. It’s free and easy to apply one anyway. Sorry I thought you were applying for AmEx KF. laugh.gif

If any other airmiles cards, you can apply the account later. You only need it when you redeem your points.

That card is not too bad but the AF cannot be waived and no written spending condition to waive AF.

I know Maybank memang cannot waive. I was thinking of getting the UOB cards for overseas spend but cannot bring myself to pay extra 3% for the transactions.

The staff helped me to fill in when I got mine, I just provided my KF no. I added card only anyway.
Maybank cannot waive AF is common, but it usually comes with spending conditions like spending 30k, 80k, etc. This AmEx KF has no written spending condition, so I have to pay. AmEx also has charges.

Am I allowed to make a full settlement for my Maybank EzyPay Plus? If so, will I be required to pay the remaining principal along with the management charges?

yes you can do early settlement

call bank to do it, they will release all the balance into the card account and you pay accordingly.

mgmt fee, iinm, it's already charged upfront.

not sure about early settlement. ask the bank about it.

Anyone know if partial refunds reduces the amount of reward from the initial spend? For example, if I spent $100, transaction posted, 1 week later I get $30 refunded directly to my card. Do I get a net reward based on $70 or $100?

If the cash back hasn’t been posted yet, yes based on 70. If it’s posted already, it will be recovered in the next month.

Guys, I have an enquiries regarding credit card application rejection.

Background:

When I decided to get a car loan from Maybank early this year and I was being offered 2 Platinum cards but I declined the offer. Fast forward, I applied early this month, I applied their Ikhwan Amex card and received the card within a week time. When I applied for 2 Platinum cards shortly after, my application got declined. Upon enquiries through their customer service, they said Maybank have given all the credit limit available to my Ikhwan card and hence they cannot give me any more credit limit for new card application. She said 1 way to work around it is to appeal my application through emailing them to reduce the credit limit given to my Ikhwan Amex and use the remaining credit limit on my 2 Platinum cards.

I find it interesting as I always though Islamic and conventional division are separate entities so each will have its own credit limit. I also did not expect to exhaust my credit limit with a single card cause my UOB One (My only credit card after I cancelled my Pulic Bank Quantum) has more than twice the credit limit.

May I know if anybody encountered the same situation before?

Besides, how high is my chance will my appeal (reducing credit limit on Ikhwan) be if my nett income is just slightly higher than the minimum income for 2 Platinum cards?

Update: My application for 2 Platinum Cards was approved after I reduced the credit limit of my Ikhwan Amex.

Cancel your Maybank Islamic credit line (Ikhwan CC)
Apply for Maybank (Conventional) credit line (for M 2 Platinum CC).
Convert part of credit line to Islamic (for Islamic CC).

Assume
Based on your income, Maybank GROUP may give you max credit limit RM20k.
Don't expect Maybank and Maybank Islamic to give you RM20k x2.
You may have RM15000 Conventional+ RM5000 Islamic (or any combination).
You cannot convert Islamic credit facility to Conventional.
But you can convert conventional credit facility to Islamic facility.

Really?! blink.gif That is very inconvenient... meaning I have to pay service tax twice for Ikhwan (RM 25 right before I cancelled, RM 25 after another new Ikhwan being issued)?

If you really want both credit lines!

If you reduce existing credit line from Maybank Islamic, you need to apply for a fresh credit line from Maybank (Cnventional), it is not conversion, not easy to get approved unless your income is improved since last review.

i also find it interesting that the customer service had provided a suggested solution to your enquiry and yet u r here
since they had informed u regarding the reason of rejection and proposed solution, might as well give it a try

every bank has its own assessment criteria
i agree that the credit limit granted from UOB is way too high

I wanted to know if the reason of for my rejection is common among other users. And I do get more insight in this forum which after all, part of the reason for the existence of forum, right? It may also serve as a reference to others when they have similar experience.

In a sense, I think similar circumstance happened to me.

After I came back to Malaysia, the 1st cc I applied and received was Maybank Visa Signature.
Then I realised it does not suit my use case, so I cancelled it. I applied and get Alliance Visa Signature - which I still keep.

Then I get pointed to Maybank 2 Card, I applied and get the Platinum version. Maybank gave credit limit which was approximately 2x my monthly salary then.

Then later, I heard about Maybank Ikhwan Amex Platinum. I applied and get rejected, more or less the same reason as what you experience.
So I called Maybank Customer Service, reduced Maybank 2C credit limit to only RM20k, then re-applied Maybank Ikhwan Amex and was approved.
