Just a question here.

My partner wants to apply for maybank cc, she is an expat and have salary only rm6,000 would she be able to apply one? Currently she has one cc from cimb. And with that salary what is the cc limit shes gonna get?
*
She can apply, no issue so long banks approve. Usually CL for foreigners is based on her monthly basic.
My colleague applied M2Cards back in 2014 and got it with CL of RM 10k which was her monthly basic salary that time.

The card is hlb mach. Since i am noy using the card, cannot fulfill 12 swipe per year.
*
Hmm. Why don't cancel it first and apply back later? I don't think you can deactivate it.

After a long procrastination, I called OCBC to cancel my useless OCBC GE which I have stopped using since the cash back was removed. Nothing to miss about this card at all except for the high CL. laugh.gif

That said, useless cards are meant to be cancelled. flex.gif

Hi, may i know whether the credit card application would be subjected to my DSR/CCRIS records?

This is because I'm worried that due to my very high DSR I'll not be able to be successful in my cc application. I have two other credit cards, but I have been paying my credit cards bills and all other relevant loans in full. I just wish to get another card to fit my requirements so that I can maximise my savings. Appreciate the feedback..
*
Yes, banks will use those as basis.

QUOTE(ExCrIpT @ May 22 2017, 04:38 PM)
How do they determine how much credit you're allowed when applying for new credit cards?
*
It's by banks' discretion. Usually starts from around 2x salary.

Hi, is there any maximum cc limit to hold? Because I read some cardholder's comments failed to apply some cards due to holding many cc even though annual income more than RM36k.
*
No maximum amount of cards can be held if annual income is more than 36k. It's up to the banks to approve or not, many factors that are affecting. One of the famous reasons is PTPTN loan.

Hi. I have owned credit cards for a few years but never actually understood how the interest is calculated.

From Maybank website, they say that they charge it based on the 12 previous month repayment habit. Does it mean on the 13th month's balance itself, they start to charge the monthly interest?
*
No late payment, no short payment then no interest.

What If for 12 months, we just pay minimum payment. So the interest is calculated at the end of 13th month correct?
*
Sorry, I'm not sure. I will let others to advise you. Interest is not something I'm interested in.
As far as I understand, interest kicks in immediately when you pay only minimum payment.

Better call bank to stop your card.

It's "Debit" not "credit".

Does ezypayment/installment affect the CCRIS?
I just know BT does.
*
If no good payment, it will affect. Same goes to BT.
It will be shown as your outstanding but if your payment is prompt and full, your scoring will be 0. So, not an issue.

Guys, my current salary consists of basic salary + production incentive, but the incentive does not affect EPF, but affect Income Tax.

To apply credit card, I'm required to fill up my annual income. Should I include my incentives or just my basic salary?

And my incentives vary every month, depending on the output production. If I need to include, should I take the current average and multiply by 12? (I have not worked for a full year yet)
*
Just fixed income. Basic salary + fixed allowances (if any) and x12.

Hi, thanks for reply. I don't know, my friend did this. She said slowly RM50 RM50 pay. I told her the interest is high, not worth for not paying full.
*
Your friend should just stop using credit cards. Sorry to be this rude but if no discipline is applied and do this on purpose, really no point of using credit cards.

Is OCBC 365 credit card annual fee easy to waive?
*
OCBC doesn't waive AF, no need to try on that.
I was an existing user back then and wanted to apply 365, they charged me upfront when I got the card and they refused to waive it. I called to cancel the card and they straight cancelled it without any attempt to retain me.

Ic. Isn't it 365 got 3 years annual fee free?

I did not remember I get charged for annual fee for the past few years until now.

I recalled last time I got charged annual fee for titanium card, yes they did not waive it but then the cso that time recommended me to change to this card and cancel the titanium one instead.
*
I didn't recall OCBC Ti has AF, I remember it was free for life.

I'm not sure if it gives three years now but definitely not easy to waive.

just checked ocbc website, indeed titanium has no annual fee. Then I seriously forgot why I got this 365. Maybe because of that time new card and has 1% for first rm1k so I applied.

Had called ocbc to request for waiver, if really cannot waive then no choice but to cancel it then. But ocbc card credit limit is very high as compared to other bank. Will be wasted if cancelled.

Maybe I should apply for titanium first before cancelling this one.
*
I already cancelled all my OCBC cards though their limit is high. laugh.gif

Hi, i ever seen a post about monthly income 2k+ only can apply for 2 maximum credit cards. However i am having 3 credit cards from HLB. Is it possible to apply for another bank? or i have to cancel the other 2 cards from HLB first.
*
RM 36k and below per annum can only have cards from two issuers' banks not two cards. Since all your cards are from HLB, then it is OK since all shares the same limit. However, for most of the banks, Islamic and conventional banking are using two different limits, so it is considered as two issuers.

You still can add one more issuing bank's card(s). smile.gif

Can i have one card in one bank another card in a different bank can they approve ?
*
I don't understand your query.
You can apply as many cards as you want, so long it is approved by banks. I mean provided your annual salary is RM 36001 and above. Else, only from two issuing banks.

If by pledging FD, I guess no limitation, since you are tied to it. Once you lift up the FD, your card will be gone as well.

How to keep your money in credit card? You swipe and pay later. That's the purpose of credit cards.

Just want to ask, if I have a cash back credit card, do I still get reward points from spending with that card?
*
It depends on the card. Like M2Cards AmEx, you will get cash back if you spend on weekends and treat points on daily basis (if your payment is not under 0 TP categories).
