Hi everyone, I'm 30 y/o this year and I have never own a credit card in my life, mainly due to me thinking that it would serve as a liability more than a necessity.
I would say I manage my monthly salary well, and control my monthly spending so overall my financials is in good hands. I earn about 2.5 - 3k per month, including paying off for every other needs. Now my main question, should I apply for credit card ? I don't think I'll be using it at all, maybe a few times per month, just to keep a good track of credit score, so it'll be easier to take a loan in the future, any advice ? Mainly I'll still be using Debit card
I think someone deleted my reply. My parents were 100% cash person. I thought them how to use credit card.
If you are going to buy/pay for item price xyz
If you use cash, you earn nothing.
If you use debit card, most of the time you earn nothing.
If you credit card, you may earn eg 50/month. Multiply that with 12 months it's free RM600 for stuff that you would be paying for either in cash or debit card which earns you nothing.
Of course credit card is a way for banks to snare you and make you their slave if you are not careful. 😁
Your choice, you want to be slave to banks or for banks to pay you money every month.
