I ended getting a TX3 from shopee seller Linglang, highly recommended seller here in the forums. Eventho there r newer box in the market, tx3 has a very capable Amlogic S905X3. Only after getting my first android box, i now realize all those ads that market "10000x free channels" most is bull crap. N because of that i also realize its actually very easy to setup ur own channels, apks, apps, etc. Having said that the tx3 i bought came wit very minimal n basic apps which is a good thing. Wifi connection also very stable, i actually bought an add on lan cable just incase but ended up not using it.

Welcome to finally realising what we’ve been screaming for years. Focus on getting a good box and 99% of the job is done already. The remaining is to tweak, install and setup stuffs as per your own preference.. Enjoy! thumbup.gif

I deleted all. Its actually made out of various apps, either cant load the link, buffering like mad and channels that in no way in hell you will watch; eg: pakistani channels, etc etc. There were even some flag as malware by my bitdefender.

So I ran some tests and on my Windows 10 PC (gigabit wired client & server) I'm able to get a top transfer speed of 66.8MB/s..on average it was around 5xMB/s... My ancient-gen Macbook Air (running MacOS 11 Big Sur) faired better and over 5G Wi-Fi.. Promted me to make a video about it too.. So those interested? Enjoy! Remember that many devices support CoreELEC, including cheap Android boxes. So yes, you can mirror my setup as I've shown...as a cheap DIY NAS solution. icon_idea.gif

Thanks for the feedback
Although that box you tried is a bit of out of my price range 😅
Curious to see the transfer speed on cheaper ones with gigabit port as cheap diy NAS
Btw, were the hdd formatted in NTFS or EXT4?

Tried this on the Beelink GS-King X running Alvatech's custom ROM.. It installs fine but refuses to run. Throws an error (see image below), despite being able to connect to all Netflix's servers. The Netflix app that shipped with the ROM works perfectly, albeit with the usual max 540p res... sweat.gif

Haha, cheaper boxes running CoreELEC shouldn't fall too far behind. Most importantly, is the control and added convenience gained from a home NAS. A couple of extra seconds or a minute here or there at the most. Unfortunately, I don't have any lesser boxes on hand to play with and confirm.

I'm fairly confident that one out of the 2 installed drives is EXT4. I'm not so sure about the other, as I used to use it primarily with a Windows PC. So most likely NTFS. Can't recall if I formatted it to EXT4 as well before installing it in the Android box. I installed a few choice Android apps to check, but none could display such info. Sorry, I'd rather not pull out the drive to check with the HDD enclosure on Windows. sweat.gif

Does anyone know any apps can remote control android phone to an android box with LAN ? both android box and phone not rooted.

It more convenient to type/swipe using own phone compare to remote control/mouse to press every alphabet during searching.

I tried Teamviewer quick support , lag and slow , disconnect in the middle because the apps use internet.Other apps not even working at all.

Any apps can remote control android box which connect via LAN ?

Yeah, no surprises there about Teamviewer being slightly laggy. Depends heavily on a fast & stable internet connection on both ends. Personally & for convenience sake, I would recommend getting a proper media remote with dedicated buttons and air mouse function. but of course, that costs extra. Forummers have already recommended CetusPlay and Android TV Remote Control. The latter is by Google and for some reason, they stopped updating it back in April 2017. So expect some unsquashed bug with some incompatible devices. Try both out and see which works best for you. For Kodi, I recommend just using Kore, Official Remote for Kodi. Works superbly.

Sure why not.. Just depends on what hardware you want to run CoreELEC off and or how to connect the drives. Hardware like the GS-King X just makes it easier, as long as they are regular 3.5″ HDD and less than 16TB each, should be fine. You might need to format them at the start though. I had help with the Ugreen's USB 3.0 to Dual Bay Hard Drive Dock to clone, backup, & restore data after formatting, before installing in the box itself. Want something with a bit more media oomph? Checkout the Zidoo UHD3000 sweat.gif notworthy.gif

After almost a decade of tech, the HP N40L does look bulky especially since it has 4 bays and maxes out at 8TB. Larger capacity drives are much cheaper today in comparison. Time to upgrade liao!.. laugh.gif

Yep.. Typically you need to press and hold down the power button for the Screenshot/Sleep/Shutdown menu to pop out.. Choose shutdown to power off safely, then boot it up again by unplugging and reconnecting the power cable. I believe the Tanix TX3 boots up automatically upon receiving power. Another thing is, most boxes do allow you to customize what happens when you press the power button once (not press and hold).. So if possible, you can customize that to sleep or shutdown straight. Your preference.

Sorry , I mean I wanted to actually work as a mirror and remote connection through the android box.
Like how a remote desktop works (RealVNC ) desktop to android
but I am finding android to remote an android box.Teamviewer host or quick support does not support LAN whichby going through the internet slow/lag/disconnect.
Same problem I am having as this youtube user https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qs9sfh-WgWc

I am not only use for media base but also searching on a browser ( scrolling , searching with handwriting base character , copy paste , doing some typing posting forum and etc ) at android box and remotely mirror control from an android phone.
