I'm using Mecool M85 Pro. I already sub DirecTV Premier to watch HBOGO and others. I do subs a dns/vpn service to view the content.

But when i wanted to watch some shows on HBOGO, it promt service error. Is this because of my device is rooted? I already asked the seller and he says that supplier only give him rooted firmware..

Can someone help me?

I own a 4k Smart TV and am now looking to owing a TV Box.

Congrats on your ballsy purchase..  As nice as it sounds.. I think you made the wrong move on this. The Apple TV Box as you've seen and will continue to see is really limiting as a media powerhouse, cuz you know Apple style. They always go with beautiful versus power and function. For starters, here be my reasons for never getting one.
*Not and Android OS.. Which means I don't get access to the wonderful ehem apps and features that thrive in an Android OS.
*No auto framerate switching or res mode switching. It always forces you to use your TV at a less than optimal performance. Cuz set at HDR, it fools the TV into thinking it's receiving HDR content and then the TV doesn't use its magic to enhance the pictures properly. Which means video processing is only done by the box and as I've seen, it's pretty awful. Set at lower res and one also loses out on HDR10 or Dolby Vision.
*No support for YouTube's VP9 codec, means limited to 1080p and if it's hardware related.. Means, it'll never support YouTube 4K HDR. This is an issue that also affects Safari on the Mac and iOS devices too. So don't get our hopes up. Huge no no given as YouTube is one of, if not the biggest source for free 4K content.
*No support for audio formats like Dolby Atmos and DTS:X yet.
*There's NO USB port.. Which means, can't connect ext hard drives or thumb drives to play content. It doesn't even have a diagnostic port. Which is way worse cuz if it faces a fatal software error, you can't plug it to a PC and force a firmware restore or enter recovery mode.

I guess if one is heavily invested in the iTunes media library and doesn't mind only streaming legit stuffs.. Guess it's okay. IMO, at its RM1K price point.. I would have sold off the MiBox and topped up to get the Nvidia Shield 2 with larger capacity instead. Significantly more powerful and capable as a media or gaming device. My 2 cents to those who'd like to know. 

Summarily.. You are a beginner user and your multiple devices allow you to do what you want done. That's all good.. Your cash, your enjoyment. All I pointed out was that with a little spit n shine. You could have easily gotten just one device and bent it to your will. No worries, just as you found the MiBox lacking and sprung for the Apple TV 4K, you'll come around to see that you require more.. It's only a matter of time 

I need 4K HDR and Dolby Vision in future but I no need DTS. I am very important in visual things but not in sound. Sound never is my concern. As long as it is clear especially the dialog and not high pitch with some base from TV speaker is enough to me. TV speaker sound did not very bad actually in TV this days.

I watch them back to back with original blu ray and media streaming and I do notice obvious differences. But if you don’t notice any differences then it’s all good then since you get to save a lot.

This is TV Box thread, it is all about stream content.

They is a thread about Blu-ray, want talk about blu-ray is there and also Blu-ray is also compression but just lessor but not means stream content is so huge different.

It is very huge on those illegal source but not the legit source.

Search within this thread for game pads, I've recommended a few earlier. For instance, the GameSir G4S.. As for what games, most big names like Asphalt or Shadowgun are gamepad friendly and are listed as such. Mostly it's, get a decent compatible gamepad that preferably has its own app for customizations and then test out games.

True.. I enjoy retro and Emulator games.. Actually been playing G.O.W. and Crash Bandicoot from PS2 & PS3 on my PC with a PS3 controller and it works fine. With required software and special drivers of course. The PS3 controller used to work on my previous Minix Neo X8-H Plus, but not on the Neo U1. Neo U1 wants either the Xbox or PS4 controllers instead. Minix devs says it's on account of no drivers or libs to make the PS3 controller compatible .. So if I have to game with such, need to buy a different compatible controller. Gamesir G4S price still hasn't dropped as much as I expected.. The G5 looks sick though.. 

Dear Media Sifu, can recommend any media player which can play 4k full bd playback with full bd menu, dolby atmos & dts-x pass through to av receiver other feature no important. 4k file are all in either iso or BDMV 4k format. Budget for media player is flexible. Thanks.

In addition to what lucaswjk says (well, since you are asking, going to assume you have the necessary equipment).. Some 4K/HDR10 etc devices can do what you ask except that bold part. That full BD Menu is a tricky one. However, the HiMedia Q10 Pro is one that quickly comes to mind.. Others include Zidoo X9S/X10. Alternatively, you could spring for the premium software VidOn XBMC.. It's a Kodi fork that allows BD menu navigation, 3D video and HD Audio passthru on devices using older processors like the AMLogic S905 or even AMLogic S812.

Yeah, but it's still a solid device and if not mistaken.. still HiMedia's current flagship model. It's replacement should be a major step up if they want to reclaim some of the premium market share from the likes of Minix. Anyways, he also got alternative with software.. Then all he needs to do is buy a newer model, pay the premium and install.. Should work..

As for storage? Not neccessarily as HEVC/x265 is here and assists greatly in reduction of space needed compared to x264. Nevertheless, for a good collector, TBs will fill up pretty fast. Then have to consider the cost of safeguarding data and redundancy.. Strong reasons as to why I haven't gone the NAS route yet.. Well that and home minister..

Budget for media player maybe Rm3k??? Flexible.
