My advice is unless you are heavily invested (or plan to) in Amazon Prime, then only you should consider this. Additionally, it has a weird design and looks heavy to be dangling off one’s HDMI port. Lastly, it’s a very unpopular device around here. So limited support.

I have had a few days to test out my Nvidia Shield and am sharing some preliminary findings. Keep in mind that these are based on my initial experience. Only had it for 3 days so didn't really have too much time to test it out.

UI - Clean and simple with some Nvidia products being promoted (games from the Geforce service). Not too bad but not fully customizable. For e.g. the first row is always the recommendations and this cannot be removed or relegated to the bottom. But you can block recommendations from specific apps. Overall, it does look prettier than Himedia or Minix but this is not a very important feature for me, so no complaints.
Some cons, I haven't figured out how to toggle between apps, right now it works more like IOS rather than Android coz I have to go to the home screen and click on the app again to go to it instead of having the open apps list and selecting the app I want. 

PQ - Based on what I have seen, PQ is as good as or maybe even better than the Q5 Pro. Can't really say for sure whether its better than the Q5 Pro coz I just sold it and didn't test them side by side. It is definitely way ahead of Minix U1 and it really seems amazing to my eyes. This was an important criteria for me and I'm glad that it meets / exceeds my expectation and has the wow factor!

Performance - The performance is truly amazing! In Kodi, 70GB high bitrate files start playing immediately after clicking on it. Both the Q5 & U1 needed some time to open the files (U1 was longer than Q5). I am really amazed with this, even my gaming PC with an i5 & RX 480 is not capable of opening a file from my NAS this quickly. The same thing happens when I click on a 4K video on YouTube. It super fast & immediately opens in high resolution instead of ramping up slowly like it did with my U1. This is truly magical and something that needs to be experienced to fully appreciate.

HD audio pass-through - Its working in Kodi for most of the files I tested but I had 1 movie with audio sync issues (had no issues with this movie in either of my previous boxes). Need to test further to see if its an isolated case. Since I pipe all audio through my AVR, its important that audio works well coz sync problems are intolerable.

Well, that's all I am able to comment on right now, might add some comments later if I have something to share.

Just want to update on my Khadas Vim experience.

Since booting libreelec from sd but uses emmc for kodi storage requires hours reading and researching, i decided to just flash emmc with libreelec. And guess what, it works really well. Browsing through my collection is extremely fast, doesnt crash, fast boot, bla bla bla. So far, satisfied with it.

Some minor problem though. Some video (usually online streaming like youtube have cracking noise. Not sure why. Is it cause of my setup? Or my settings? I dont know. Google shows that not many people are experiencing this. Probably my settings. I dont know.

How about warranty wise? Able to get warranty from Malaysia?

If it does not work we have to shipped back to China ?

I know the shipment to Malaysia fairly cheap. However going from Malaysia to China is very expensive.
Anyone selling locally with warranty?
How about other unit like Beelink GT1 ultimate or TZ95 which seem popular?

I think you need to re-read page 1, there is no perfect box. For my use case scenario, it works wonderfully and its the best android tv box available. Not everyone will be happy with it because it may not work for what they want to do. There is a guy in the Nvidia Shield thread who is not happy with his newly purchased Shield because the external storage does not work well with Quasar. For me I stream stuff from my NAS on Kodi  & use the streaming apps, so this is not an issue for me. So does that make my view invalid because there are negative reviews? I guess it depends on whether the negative points are related to stuff that you may need. If it is, then stay away and find something else. I have been using media boxes for a long time now since the Sigma vs Realtek days, and unfortunately, there are still no perfect boxes. But fortunately for me, the Shield is now the only box I need. Will probably upgrade only when I get a Dolby Vision tv sometime in the future.

So I ran some tests and on my Windows 10 PC (gigabit wired client & server) I'm able to get a top transfer speed of 66.8MB/s..on average it was around 5xMB/s... My ancient-gen Macbook Air (running MacOS 11 Big Sur) faired better and over 5G Wi-Fi.. Promted me to make a video about it too.. So those interested? Enjoy! Remember that many devices support CoreELEC, including cheap Android boxes. So yes, you can mirror my setup as I've shown...as a cheap DIY NAS solution. 

my unifi was lower speed package after few years later they upgrade my speed to 100mbps for same price package, that why i was not provided with the tv box unless i get the box from them with extra rm20 per month for 12 or 24 months package......so instead for paying this amount, i might as well buy my own tv box.....just my personal opinion

i know nothing on this new tv system works......that why i just want to buy a tv box and link up with the new tv to watch local stations and movie will be a bonus.

Looking for a tv box mainly for netflix and disney+, can support 4k will be advantage. I read from the last few page that mecool KM2 is popular and recommended here but should i be worried about the 2gb memory? Another thing, is there tv box that support playing from usb media like downloaded stuff.

I have one and I hate it. The interface is too cluttery and you have limited space too. Also it does not come with Android framework that supports writing files to external device, something which other Android TV devices has. So even if you plug in a usb-c adapter with PD and use a usb/microsd, you can't utilise those extra space
