but none of them are of the same calibre or even of the same role as the SU-25! these examples are certainly light multirole aircraft that just happen to be able to be equipped as an attack plane. the SU-25 on the other hand is a dedicated CAS aircraft, and no matter how you cut it, any trainer derived attack aircraft will not have the endurance, armour or payload of a dedicated design..

Libyan National Army helicopter crashes in operation against BDB

user posted image

QUOTE
Two Libyan National Army (LNA) pilots were reported to have been killed when their helicopter crashed today in an operation against the Benghazi Defence Brigades (BDB) south of Sirte. The BDB claimed it had attacked the helicopter and is reported saying the two are dead. A third member of the crew is missing.  In what is reported as the last contact the helicopter had with ground control, the pilot is alleged to have said “we are under heavy fire”. Contact was said to have then been lost.

There were claims this evening, however, that one of the pilots, named as Mumin Al-Drissi, has been found alive.   This has not been confirmed.

For his part, LNA air force chief Major-General Saqr Geroushi has denied the helicopter was shot down.

It was involved in a series of airstrikes against a BDB convoy that heading towards the Mabrouk oilfield operated by France’s Total oil. An LNA spokesman has been quoted saying that there were at least nine air strikes on the convoy and that five of the militants were killed and 20 wounded.

It said investigations were on-going to determine the cause.

Names of the deceased were yet to be released at the time of going to print as the authorities were still to inform families of the officers.

People waiting to see how it performs in more operations first I think. For one thing, it has a rather small ammo magazine.

What's the status on those M109s coming to us BTW?

Currently in Syria, the ACV15 is being used against ISIS by Turkish and their allied forces.

Malaysia also have this AFV right? Looks like a good way to gauge the battle performance even though Malaysia already replacing it with AV8s.

the upgrade or overhaul is basic only.. from A4 to A5

BAE get the upgrade done or are they offering a more enticing upgrade option?

BAE going to be the agent responsible to bring the SPH
of course they will be the one that going to do the upgrade other then maintenance and refurbishment as the SPH is a hot transfer

as long as the cost of upgrade is reasonable the it should be ok

we don't want another Brunei Blackhawk case

EXCLUSIVE: Indonesia Gets In Line For India’s New AEW&C Jet

Shiv Aroor Feb 12 2017    11 37 am

user posted image

Indonesia could be the first foreign customer for the DRDO-Embraer AEW&C system, designated Netra, within the next year, if interest from Jakarta is anything to go by. Livefist learns Indonesia, which first expressed interest in the system, has escalated its interest to a request for a systems demonstration, possibly in that country. The project has achieved initial operational clearance, with the first of two jets set to be handed over to its customer, the Indian Air Force, at the Aero India show — a terrific splash of an idea.

It's actually an M113 (a pure APC) which was reconfigured into an IFV by the additon of a autocannon turret, firing ports and spaced steel armor.

C295 AEW too slow as AEW&C ..become AEW still ok. Airbus better packages A319 AEW&C (means all system on C295AEW move to A319) will get better marketing. seriously not much AF have lot money/operation to have AEW&C, if they have money will get proper AEW&C. those low speed become AEW more suitable.
