Active duty USMC here: we use these photos for training purposes all the time. It shows exactly what not to do in the event of a sniper causing a casualty. SOP now is to pop smoke + suppressing fire then retrieve the casualty. Self aid first every marine in the infantry has the ability to apply a tourniquet to themselves (we all carry 2) to stop blood flow until they can be retrieved.

MICA is definitely very cool to have on a ship this small, but it seems kind of overkill for an oversized patrol boat

Thinking it probably is meant to be a meat shield for high value assets in wartime
