The card activated on feb/2024. Now it is march/2025, my statement now have annual fee transaction rm250. Is this already count as second year?
because you said AF is charged first before using for the year, so means feb/2024 to jan/2025 should be free right?
*
Oh yeah, then this is the second year already. Good luck in requesting the waiver. If you have used the card after the AF is charged, then it is tough luck but may be possible.

You can open a support case from their system and request for waiver. Just make sure you get the card cancelled before the payment due date or you'll be billed late payment charges.

not i aware until i get charge.. damm.... i hv to hold for 3 years now as my Solar EPP is under this SCB card...
i should hv use my UOB or RHB.. damm regret..
not worth to spend hundred of K on SCB... worthless card ranting.gif  ranting.gif  ranting.gif

this is the main point why they refuse to waive AF for you.
they know very well that
you are forced to stay with them even they refuse to waive AF.

i think even early settlement of EPP, they will charges some early settlement charges too...

so no choice,
but you can try call their CS and ask to get some of their so called BT plan for min amount and min tenure , with that, they would able to offer AF waiver.

as well as the interest charge for the BT plan is lower than AF, then go for it.

Can share what r the AF-free cc that has good benefits? Is Sutera your hlb cc?
*
Very old Alliance Bank Visa+MC. Benefit not much. Points approx 1.33% equivalent of cashback.
Yup, HLB is Sutera. Points here is approx 1%. I keep this around because they had some great offers. Best was 20% cashback with no cap. Also the only card where I had won a Grand Prize in a contest.
Most recent is Maybank 2 Card. No AF but points also not so good. However got Apple Pay.

Good you man up to your stupidity and learn from it. I applaud you for that. Most will retaliate when people call them out.

Now, you knew the card got annual fees, what gave you the confidence to assume you’ll get the annual fees waived for 3 years due to your EPP?

I always put EPP on cards without annual fees because I don’t want my balls to be held in a vice by the bank.

I wonder if SCB allows one to transfer EPP to another cc?

No wonder don't give you waiver. You already saved 1.5-3k a year doing easy payment 100k at 0% interest.

Always use cards with free AF or AF with spending criteria (if you can fulfill them) for EPP or BT purposes. It is definitely a costly experience... Unfortunately.

No usage. In the past 2-3 years I just ask for AF&SST rebate. Use when need to complete the task for rebate.

I don’t think it’s possible because the EPP is tied to that account. Unless the card is discontinued e.g. HLB AA credit card, then they changed the card to Sutera so the EPP transitioned to Sutera, the old AA card is closed and new Sutera card is issued.

I mean one can try to downgrade the card? TS you should call SCB to try before you get hit again next year.

Even if you cancel the card now, the AF has been charged to your card and you are obligated to pay for it before cancellation.
If you want to avoid AF, then you should have cancelled the card before AF charges.

Not necessarily. Most of the banks allow you to cancel after AF is charged so long you don't use it after the AF is charged to your card.
I only had issue with HSBC but after some fighting, I managed to cancel the card without paying for the AF.

According to some of the recent posts seems like difficult for fee waiver & rebate.

Yeah I saw that too, but let's see in July and August when I will have both of these charged to my card.
