Got Simply Cash RM250 annual fee waiver requested through Help & Services/Other Request. Took 5 days.

Forgot to ask for a rebate of SST. Will send another request.

Also asked CS what the requirements are, to be assured of an annual fee waiver. CS unable to say. Not so good bcos I use this card less now. 2023 only RM11900 plus 2 ongoing EPP.

Also for the cashback is it base on statement month OR calendar month (like MBB) ?

My first year of SC Simply Cash CC just completed but got charged for annual fee. It is not automatically waived? I haven’t start calling them to plea for waiver yet

I got charged annual fee, login to SC online request for credit card waiver, today check SC mobile app, credit back the annual fee charges.
*
Same as haru20, had to send request to SCB to get the annual fee waiver. Last year also the same. The in-app fee waiver option always say my card is not eligible.

Noted. I've done email via in-app. Now the progress bar says 'processing'. Not sure what will be the outcome yet. Another question, when you said "credit back the annual fee charges", Is it necessary to pay 1st? Since due date is long time to go, I'm currently withholding my payment.
That's bad. Only 50% is not good. I'm not sure what the outcome for my case will be. Will update.
Same, in-app fee waiver say my card not eligible. Did you get 100% waived? Do we need to pay the outstanding first before they proceed with waiver?
*
Yes, got all RM250 credited back. Took about 4 days for SCB to reply to the request and another 3 days before the credit appeared in transactions. Plenty of time before due date so no need to pay first.

Update, they have replied. Not nice. I'm considering to terminate the card.
Soon Wai, I wonder how you got full waive. Does we need to cross certain amount of annual transaction?
*
I also wondered. I ask them but they declined to give a definite answer. Just said that for Simply Cash card, first year is waived and RM250 for subsequent years. Any waiver is up to SCB's discretion.

Maybe based on spending? I don't use SCB card much, 2023 was RM11000 plus 2 ongoing EPP, about RM300/mth.

Same, SCB Simply Cash is my secondary card. Spent RM12.6k for it in 2023. I applied just because my primary card doesn’t have Apple Pay (PB Visa). Never got charged for the PB, always waived. Now entering 8th year.

May need to look for other card to replace this SCB SC.
*
Yeah, other cards so much easier. MBB and ABB all free lifetime. HLB stated, I think, 12000/yr spend to get waiver. They even have a bar graph on their website to let you know how much to go before waiver.

I sent a request for SST rebate a few days after the annual fee waiver was credited but was declined. sad.gif

Got mine too. Simply Cash.

SCB asking to be cancelled. Min redemption RM30 and then must be in multiples of RM30. My RM7 forever stuck. Pity those who have RM29 in there.

I guess Setel topup is counted as petrol. I topped up RM100 to Setel and categorized it as Others.

Mine too so I sent request via "Help & Services/.../Other Request" to get the annual fee waiver. The fee waiver option always say my Simply Cash card is not eligible. Previous years, used to called but now no more humans at SCB.

Took about 4 days for SCB to reply to the request and another 3 days before the credit appeared in transactions. Plenty of time before due date so didn't pay first.

Yes, after statement came out with RM250 AF inside. After I got the AF waiver, I sent another request for rebate of RM25 SST. SCB said xboleh.

i got only 50% waived. and i used the card after the annual fee charged.

now clearing all outstanding ans request for cancellation. outstanding amount shown is 0.00.

but when request cancellation, it says i have rm51 credit. asked me to request refund first. requested and it is "there" (weird), and asked to wait few days.
*
I didn't have to do anything special. Don't remember but I probably used the card after the AF. At the time of the AF request, I had approx RM2500 statement balance including the AF and RM5000 left in 2 0% EPPs.

I also asked them how to be ensured of an AF waiver in the future. They replied "at bank's discretion."

Write to them. Help & Services/Other Banking Services/Other Request.
They didn’t give me but others have been successful. Good luck.

Setel is not under the eligible ewallet.

I am asking whether anyone has experience that they did Setel top up and it is considered for total monthly spending calculation.

Based on my observation for Dec cashback, Setel wallet topup seems to have gone into Petrol category.

i am confuse what you mean?
so is count as petrol or others??
*
My bad, I read back also I'm confused what I wrote.

What I meant to say was that I put Setel Topup RM100 in Others category and expected cashback was RM56 because Petrol cat wasn't maxed out. However actual cashback that I received was RM60. The only explanation was that the Setel Topup RM100 actually went into Petrol category.

QUOTE(hvveein @ Apr 9 2024, 05:51 PM)
Means if I top up Setel RM100, is similar like pumping petrol for RM100 rite?
*
Yup, based on that one time. Hoping someone else can confirm.

QUOTE(skty @ Apr 9 2024, 06:06 PM)
I don't need it to be categorized into Petrol category.

So from your statement I believe it's safe to assume Setel will be at least filler.
*
Filler, no problem. Any spend can be filler except the usual exclusions like gov and utilities the usual suspects.

QUOTE(MGM @ Apr 9 2024, 07:06 PM)
So can reload setel to get cb by using cc that earn cb for petrol 5541/5542.
*
Looks like it. No idea why Setel topup is under petrol and not ewallet. Setel is full fledged eWallet already right?
