Exit due to this?

Liquidators trying to recover money from Malaysia's sovereign wealth fund 1MDB sued Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore in June, alleging it enabled acts of fraud that caused more than $2.7 billion in financial losses more than 10 years ago.25 Nov 2025

No lah. Switch to digital banking and focus on high growth/profit areas.
No need so many branches, stop recruiting new staff.
HSBC is doing the same thing in UK (Standard Chartered is a British bank). The number of HSBC UK's branches is now at 300 (+/-) only, from 3000 branches many years ago.

We are now seeing banks are closing down their branches, except Affin.

After reading few pages in here, so it seems this mandtory diedie AF SC is rolling out is a bummer. I do like SC card but since now they are going gung ho on the AF so its bye bye.

UOB also charging for the platinum cards but can be waived by an annual spend of 20k.

Long ago before they closed the branch nearby, we quickly close our long time savings account. Can't remember if they moved or merged with Bukit Bintang branch

Some bank accounts minimum balance RM10.
Few months inactive then dormant fee -RM10.
Then account will be closed by the system.

So not really need to visit a bank branch to close account.

Payment Due Date: 01 Dec 2025
Repayment using Duitnow 30 Nov 2025

Statement clearly show that it is on-time payment (Transaction Date 30 Nov) (why SCB use Posting Date 02 Dec and charge me interest and late charge?)

Isn't it Duitnow is instant transfer?

30 November is a Sunday. IMHO that's my experience, i dont do transfer on weekend or holiday as it's unpredictable. The important thing is the posting date.

Yesterday was my credit card due date and I paid at night which I always do. The only difference is I usually pay at 8.30pm and last night I paid at 9.40pm. Today I checked and I got charged with late payment charges. I chatted with CS and she sent in waiver for me and subject to approval. I told her my payment is within due date and she said there’s a cutoff in their system. I find it ridiculous to penalize customers for this when we still pay within the due date.

I actually suspected something because usually I will receive SMS and email within half an hour after my payment was made but not yesterday. I only received them at 2am. Anyway, it’s not a big deal for me but it’s something SCB should look into.

Good day everyone.

I was charged late payment and interest for my previous statement payment.

Due date is 2nd January. I made direct transfer from maybank on that date 11.30pm +/-.  (Transaction date 2/1/25, posting date 3/1/25)

Tried to call and request for waiver, request created but rejected.

May i know why i was being charged late payment even i paid on that date. Is there any other way that i can do to waive those late charges?

Thank you

I made payment on my due date but it's posted on the following day. I got charged interest for this. Other banks I do not have this issue. Probably it's time to clear all and terminate this card.

Their system cut-off issue that happened to me in Dec and charged with me interests but I managed to get all waived. However, the problem still carries on till Feb. sweat.gif doh.gif My January payment had no more issue as I paid way early, so I chatted with CS again this morning and she said it is due to the Dec and this should be the last time I'm being charged with this interest. To be honest, I don't really understand her explanation but I told her this is the last time I will tolerate with this nonsense. I will terminate all SCB cards as they are the only bank which gives a lot of inconveniences. She said she will put in a request to waive this interest as well.

You guys who pay on due date but kena classified as late, do you transfer from other bank?

I usually instant transfer to my SC Jumpstart account then just pay to card from that directly. Have been doing this for years no issue so far. Or I guess u guys don't have normal SC bank acc?

I just remembered sc jumpstart cashback already nerfed n is shit now... maybe I will close mine soon.
