Problem is trying to talk to a human bean in SC takes forever. I really hate it.

Maybank is the best surprisingly. Call straight get human.

That's why I eventually cancelled me and wife's SC cards. Not worth the hassle. Maybank CS has been very good since they first launched Maybank2Kards - their phone team got special Amex training based on insider info I got. But I feel they starting to understaff, nowadays takes a bit longer for them to pick up (the actual service still good though) compared to when I first using their card. E.g today I took about 4 minutes to connect to a human.

QUOTE(tifosi @ Jan 23 2025, 02:23 PM)
SC is the worst bank, way worse than PBB.

I decided not to beg/threaten to cancel every year to waive my AF. Enough already.

So I cancelled my card once AF is charged, got a retainer call a week before due date. I told them no, not interested to keep anymore. My card was gone from online banking. 2 weeks past my due date, I got an automated call from SC that I have an outstanding (legit call).

So I called back and whack them kaw, they informed the card was closed like few days after my due date hence interest was charged. Got them to waive luckily no 1 in my CCRIS.

Planning to cancel also but just to confirm. When AF is charged (my AF should be charged on my next month's statement), if we cancel the card without even using the card after AF is charged, by right we don't need to pay the AF right? When you cancel the card when AF is charged, I assumed you've cleared all outstanding (minus the AF)?

Yes, as long there's no transaction after the AF. Mine is a drawer card anyway so there's no transaction even before the AF is charged.

If your AF has been charged you cannot submit a normal cancellation request online as they deem that you have outstanding. You have to submit via Other Request. I just done mine and got a reply saying that my request is forwarded to the cancellation team and need to wait 5 days to call me back.

Card not cancelled yet. Nobody called me yet. There is still outstanding sitting in my card balance. Pretty shitty customer experience if you ask me.

Not sure if it is a terminal's limitation or SCB's. hmm.gif

I paid before using Apple Pay (with Apple Watch) for amount RM 7xx. Today I wanted to pay a bill of RM 8xx, it didn't work with the Apple Watch and iPhone. I had to use my physical card and only it went through. Luckily I brought the card along today.

Yes, I submitted the request on 5/2 and received an email on the same day. Then, I received an email today that 2 cards had been cancelled. No human ever called to offer anything, even if I didn't want to maintain. They are like, they don't care about the customer at all.

Might be SCB limitation.

SCB cards all have a daily limit of RM1k via contactless (this includes Apple Pay). So once you hit the 1k daily contactless limit, it will decline and you’ll have to use the physical card.

I’ve experienced this multiple times when using Apple Pay until I called up one day and got the above explanation from CS.

However, I’ve also had my Apple Pay transactions getting declined although I’ve not hit the rm1k limit. So am not too sure how do they calculate it.

Whilst I understand it’s for safety in case your card is stolen, its frustrating to say the least when there’s no option to increase this contactless spend limit (especially when using Apple Pay).

I see. So, it’s common then. However, I have not hit the 1k daily limit yet and when I paid for this bill. Anyway, hopefully I won’t encounter it again though most of the time I will have the physical card with me but it’s inconvenient to be compared with Apple Pay. tongue.gif

Their system cut-off issue that happened to me in Dec and charged with me interests but I managed to get all waived. However, the problem still carries on till Feb. sweat.gif doh.gif My January payment had no more issue as I paid way early, so I chatted with CS again this morning and she said it is due to the Dec and this should be the last time I'm being charged with this interest. To be honest, I don't really understand her explanation but I told her this is the last time I will tolerate with this nonsense. I will terminate all SCB cards as they are the only bank which gives a lot of inconveniences. She said she will put in a request to waive this interest as well.

example your due date is 15th with RM2000 (interest included). so u ask for waive interest it become 1950 and u pay it on 18th. then next month statement show interest is between 15th to 18th likely. that’s why need waive 2 times

You guys who pay on due date but kena classified as late, do you transfer from other bank?

I usually instant transfer to my SC Jumpstart account then just pay to card from that directly. Have been doing this for years no issue so far. Or I guess u guys don't have normal SC bank acc?

I just remembered sc jumpstart cashback already nerfed n is shit now... maybe I will close mine soon.
