Guys, do I still need to pay for the annual fee if I cancel the card after the annual fee is charged to my account? Stupid SCB promise to waive my annual fee few months ago but it shows up in my latest bill.

Do u call to ask them waive? Usually SCB have no problem to waive annual fee with a call.

Called and the operator said she will ask (with no guarantee) for a waiver for me. The thing is it should not be in my bill in the 1st place.

Lets see how it goes.

LIKE SzeMeng76 said it is rather easy to get AF waiver, but do not use the card for the moment just in case.

I've never used Jompay before, so wanted to check with those that have. Since I've read that my cashback card gives cashback for jompay but not insurance, my question is this: If I pay for insurance using Jompay (i just noticed allianz is a jompay biller) does the bank recognise it as a Government MCC or an Insurance one?

Surprisingly, i noticed that SC Singapore and Indonesia has kick start another round of 20% cashback and finger crossed that SC Malaysia will follow suit icon_rolleyes.gif

very bad experience with SC. One day late was charged with interest of RM17. Is it me or other banks don't have the same interest charging mechanism.

Looking forward to not touch Standard Chartered cards anymore.

what is your definition of "one day late"?

1) when is your due date?
2) when did you pay?

usually, banks have about 2 days grace period after due date before they start charging the interest.
