I got this SCB Just One Platinum, just wondering if purchasing airline tickets throught MAS webpage entitled for discount ? The webpage only mentioned online but no idea can get rebate for airline tickets or not

I think it should be eligible as long as the purchased is made online.

OK la, see which one it is approved. I'm not so interested with Just One actually. In my opinion, if approved both will be approved or neither will be approved. laugh.gif

Fruitie, why not consider the Just One for insurance billing? You have GE right, it the amount is >RM2,500 one time, this card would be great, as it is considered (in my list) the 2nd highest CB for insurance. biggrin.gif

if this is 2nd highest, what is the highest CB for insurance?

This reply will be slightly off topic from this thread.

This is according to my knowledge and analysis and it really depends on (a) whether the insurance can be pay online (b) the amount of the insurance:-

1) For insurance that you can pay online like AIA, Prudential, AXA etc:-

- With each amount of up till RM1k, it would be Public Bank Visa Signature. As for each insurance payment that you pay with difference PBVS, you get RM50 each. Below RM833.33 would be best as you get the maximum cash back of 6%. -> Hence the highest CB for insurance

- Alternatively, if you still have Wise card, use the RM1k for eligible categories and utilise the remaining RM1k for insurance payment monthly to enjoy the max CB of RM100. Hence insurance CB is about 4.29%, still higher than Standard Chartered Just One Platinum. -> Wise can be the 3rd highest highest CB for insurance if the amount is RM1k monthly.

- If the insurance amount is RM2k, you can still charge to Public Bank to get RM50 (only ~2.5% CB) but you can convert it to 9 months 0% installment.

- But if the amount is RM2.5k, might as well use Standard Chartered Just One Platinum where you get RM85 (~3.4%) instead of RM50 with PBVS only even though you still can convert it to 9 months 0% installment. -> This would be the 4th highest CB for insurance for this category.

2) For insurance that cannot pay online like GE, it depends on the amount and the number of PBVS you hold.

- If the insurance is RM2k, charge it to Aeon cc then use PBVS to pay Aeon CC. You would need roughly 3 PBVS to cover this payment and the CB is ~4.41% (4.04% from PBVS payment to Aeon cc + 0.4% from Aeon (RM2 = 1 Aeon point)). -> This combo is the 2nd highest CB for insurance.

- If the insurance is RM6k, you can imagine how many PBVS card you need to cover these payment. rclxub.gif

The reason why I said this Just One is the 2nd highest is because of (1) Combo of Aeon and PBVS is not ideal with those high insurance payment, like few thousand and above 2) Wise is only good if the insurance is RM1k MONTHLY or for that one month.

Conclusion: Still very much depends on whether the insurance can be pay online and the amount of the insurance. All these are until PBVS stop having this superb feature. Cheers~

Noted! That is really minimal, not worth to spend on this card then.

Auto billing for insurance falls under 15% CB, no?

1 Auto bill payments comprise of recurring bill payments from Insurance, Telco and Utilities

Sorry I overlook the part on autodebit of insurance, what about paying insurance online is it considered as online purchase which also entitled for 15%? I think this card is also good if u have spending on things that don't earn much CB from any CC. Will look into this card, TQ.

I am not sure whether paying insurance online will be online purchase of insurance. Maybe need to check the MCC code on previous online payment of insurance to find out whether it falls into any of the 15% CB category. smile.gif

Didn't know that SCB's CB-Gold n Justone-Gold have the same exclusion of petrol n insurance. But is it worth cos of 2.12% charges of PosOnline?
*
Just One will be out. The t&c of Just One card stated specifically cash rebate is excluding govt MCC, which one of the MCC was for PosOnline.

The usage of SCB Gold Card for PosOnline is merely to pay the BT to Aeon CC. The Gold Card has CB rate of 3.34% (RM50 for Spending of RM1,500), hence after minusing the PosOnline charges, it is still a positive CB as long as these CB online payment cc to pay for Aeon CC is more than 2.12% CB.

tqvm

Cant confirm because my auto billing is not due yet so I have not experience it, but I believe it should be entitled to 15% CB and like what you mentioned, you should be getting RM85 for your auto billing of insurance of RM3,000

Lucky me! Paid with Just One Platinum CC for PosOnline and thought it is a gone case since the CB excludes government transaction. End up still receive the CB in full! I spent RM1k+ on flight booking and petrol and RM1.5k on PosOnline (payment to Aeon CC - back in Nov 2016). Sadly this is the first and last time getting CB for PosOnline!

Hi there, meaning paying insurance online instead of auto debit is also eligible for the cash back right? Coz there are a few insurance where we can pay online, i.e. AIA, Prudential, AXA Affin (via UOB PayOnline) etc. Is your insurance paid online relates to any of the insurance provider that I mentioned here?

Thanks a lot in advance. smile.gif

I stopped using Shopback after they didn't credit few of my Lazada transactions and I have to send them email every time, I got lazy and just few bucks.. My time is more precious than that.
For Uber at least. 20% discount is quite a lot.
*
Aww.. what a waste. I just gotten RM2 for each Grab Ride during the promo period from 30 May to 1 Jun (total 3 free rides with promo code, on top of that, got RM6 which is already reedemable! For Uber - it is redeemable within an hour. For Grab, about a day or 2).

You do use Promo code for Uber right? NOwadays the promo code for Uber and GrabCar never ends, which benefits customers like us.

I do email Shopback for missing CB and they will investigate and do the necessary. Agree that if they dont take any action, then just forget it.

I didnt get AF for my Stand Chart Just One Platinum even though it has passed the month that AF was supposed to be charged. Found that for Just One Plat and Stand Chart Gold Card, effective from 1 Aug 2018 onwards, AF is waived for spending for RM20,000 p.a. Details on the website

based on what i understand and read, for SCB Cash Back Platinum, spend RM1k on anything other than petrol and insurance, and RM500 on auto debit insurance will still be eligible for the RM50 cash back, since the min excluding insurance and petrol is only RM1k.

Max out SCB JO every month, hence need to rely on Cash Back Platinum
