rclxm9.gif Welcome to the 11TH version of the thread. rclxm9.gif
Last version can be found HERE

Digi's network
Digi operates 2G GSM/GPRS/EDGE, 3G WCDMA/HSPA+ & 4G LTE/LTE-A network.
Here is a list of network bands that Digi runs on.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Details of LTE

Digi's LTE currently runs on 1800MHz and 2600MHz.
The former offers great coverage indoors & outdoors and can be identified with their cell ID in the range of 20X, the latter offers much better capacity & speed, albeit with much worse coverage. It can also be identified with the cell ID in the range of 10X.
Digi's LTE-A network combines this two network bands to achieve theoretically double the speed of regular LTE.

Requirements
To use LTE, there are three requirements, a 4G-LTE enabled SIM Card, a 4G-LTE capable mobile device and you have to be within Digi's LTE network.
To use LTE-A, you need a LTE-A capable device and be within their LTE-A coverage area.
To check whether your SIM card is 4G-LTE compatible, simply SMS
LTE or lte to 20000

Here is their network coverage page.

Postpaid Offerings
Accurate as of 2nd of November 2016 Link here: http://new.digi.com.my/postpaid-plans

Digi's postpaid packages are split into two varieties, More Voice & More Internet.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Family Plan
Accurate as of 9th of October 2016 Link here : http://new.digi.com.my/postpaid/family-plans

Explaination
To have a family line, you need to pick a package as a base plan from Digi's offerings.
After that, you will need to add on RM10 for data sharing feature to be allowed.
If the package that you pick has no unlimited calls, you can opt to add on RM10 to get unlimited calls to all networks.
A basic supplementary line is can either be RM38 or RM28, a RM10 supplementary package is available as a data only SIM.
You can add on data upgrades to your principle line holder to share it with your supplementary lines.
You can allocate a certain quota to any of your numbers through the MyDigi app.

As of right now it is still unclear whether you can subscribe to a plan and add on unlimited calls for RM10 or quota upgrades and not have any supplementary line. It is not allowed.

Digi's family comes in three varieties.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

You can add additional internet quotas. There are the three options.
Do note that they are not recurring subscriptions, so you will need to subscribe to them monthly.

Personally I think the technology is ready to be deployed but Digi's network might still be not ready yet. Image a drop call every time you drop from LTE to 3G. It happens much more often than 3G to 2G. Hiwever I still don't understand why they still don't want to launch VoWifi first, that should not be too difficult tho.

I am eyeing for Digi Broadband 105 plan, which offers 40GB (20gb on + 20gb off peak).
No contract is implied if i only take the data plan and not together with the wifi mobile device.

But my question is:
do you know what is the data top up plan if my broadband data has been used up? Example rm10 - 4GB, etc?
i can't seem to find the table in digi website.
Appreciate if you could list down here for me thanks!

DiGi sometimes bad, sometimes good.
The TAC code sometimes delay to receive.
Even some people contact me the DG number, it straight away jump to the voicemail or unreachable. However, my phone device did not show any missed call list.
Until estimate after 1 hour, then I receive a lot of SMS regarding missed call notification and lot of TAC/MSCODE number from bank service provider..

Kinda very lousy for this DG network.. shakehead.gif

Yes, LTE network..

What means of CSFB? (Sorry for my noob)
I already turn off the voicemail thing, now change to Computer system talking "The number you dial is not reachable....."...

Use more than 5 years under DiGi, only see the improvement on changing slogan...
The rest network service like suck... mega_shok.gif

Oh, I see.
But my one situations a bit different.

Let's say I turn on the mobile data plan, then the incoming call or SMS will everything delay.
However once I turn off the mobile data plan, then very fast receive all the incoming SMS. And sometimes experience very fast to dial in during outgoing call (Beep.... Beep.. Awaiting to answer the call) compare I turn on the mobile data.
Do you experience like this issues? (Hope that I think too much.. unsure.gif )

If based on your mention, then consider depend on the device how it's switching?
Kinda be more complicated already~ rclxub.gif

The 9GB is all-time, if weekend finish, it will deduct from 9GB quota.

VoLTE should be coming soon. Receive SMS on my iPhone 6.

DiGi are getting new 900MHz spectrum in 2017 and most likely will use it to deploy LTE. Eventually concern over VoLTE dropped calls should be lesser

- No chart
- Digi Best Prepaid V1 is a very old plan started back in 2009.
- Was it about the recent Digi New Best Prepaid V1 (launched 24 August 2015) ?

Digi Best versions
1. Digi Best V1 -> V2 -> V3 -> V4
2. Digi New Best V1 -> V2
3. Digi Best Prepaid 2016 P2P

1. Digi Best (DB) V1/V2/V3/V4 has minor rates/tariffs differences
2. Major difference was the grace period V1/V2 - 90 days, V3/V4 - 75 days
3. Digi New Best (DNB) V1 has PAYU at 5sen/MB (max RM3) = no basic internet
4. Digi New best (DNB) V2 has monthly 500Mb basic internet = no PAYU
5. Digi BEST Prepaid 2016 P2P (DBP2016) has monthly 500Mb basic internet = no PAYU
6. DNB V1/V2 and DBP2016 have the same tariffs
7. DB V4 & DNB V1 has SLL365 at RM38 (without basic internet)
8. DNB V2 & DB2016 has SLL365 at RM68 (with monthly basic internet)
9. IDDIC is applicable to all Best versions except DBP2016
*
Thank you for the full details comparing them. It's Digi Best Prepaid V1 not the New Best Prepaid V1.Older version
The older version having 90 days grace period
Others about internet is not important since using for calls but does all of the version of DIgi Super Long Life cost Rm6+ .I remember it's only RM30 last 2 years.

Which version need to upgrade to get cheaper 1 year SSL ?

already set to metered connection, mifi data counter also read used not even 100mb.
maxis customer support is as useful as using racket to eat noodle from a bowl.

That's really surprising of Digi, but I think it's a good move though with the new plans. The plans does seem better value now except for removal of music streaming data. What Digi can do is to make it an optional add-on like say RM5 or below for 10GB of music streaming data.

Yea, great deal especially for those staying in Johor but working in Singapore, RM5 a month is a great bargain. No need to get another SIM card there already.

How to subscribe to this? I working at SG and staying at JB. I can't seem to find more info other than the banner. When click, it just bring to roaming page and there is nothing mentioned there. confused.gif

I think those cheaper plans are not very profitable for them, so they killed it. Maybe they will make the prepaid plans better. Oh wait, lets not have another prepaid plan again, the latest one is only a couple months old. laugh.gif

Digi may be getting more people switching over with the release of the new plans. Now, will the network be able to cope especially at busy/populated areas?

I just switched from old digi 80 to the new one 20gb, only to realise there's no longer unlimited music freedom, unlimited whatsapp, and the promo for 8gb rm10 add-ons also no longer available. Kinda disappointing not having all the perks from previous plan when it's he same price.

I reread the RoamBorder FAQ:
The price for the RoamBorder add-on is as follows:

Plan Monthly Price for RoamBorder Subscription
Digi Postpaid 50 RM30
Digi Postpaid 80 RM30 (with RM25 discount if RoamBorder activated before 1 Dec 2016)
Digi Postpaid 110 RM30 (with RM30 discount if RoamBorder activated before 1 Dec 2016)

Depends on your area. Perhaps you can get a prepaid sim and try it for a week.

Let's take Digi RM50 plan as an example, it comes with 5GB all-day quota and 5GB weekend 4G quota.

Weekend: Connected on 4G, deduct weekend quota until depleted, only then it will deduct from all-day quota.

Weekend: Connected on 3G, straight deduct from all-day quota.

Basically, it has nothing to do with whether you can use 4G or not. It's about which data quota it will deduct from on weekends depending on whether you are connected to 3G or 4G.

Because 4G LTE network capacity is much higher and cost per GB for Digi is much cheaper on LTE than 3G.

What do you meant by 50%? 50% in terms of what? Digi had far larger coverage than just 50% population coverage. Nobody would claim their coverage based on area but rather how much of the population could it cover.

Last time, telco offers special plans for certain states/areas, so people in Klang Valley complaint.

Now, there is extra weekend quota only if you're on 4G, so those living outskirts without 4G coverage will complaint.

Selayang, Rawang and Wangsa Maju already covered with 4G LTE quite some times ago. Hell, they even had LTE-A in Wangsa Maju. There might be something wrong with your phone.

if your phone support only L26, for sure u will get 3G/drop back to 3G blink.gif

If digi has 20% non-LTE area and 30% of them are using digi and 17% of that is digi postpaid, that is only 1% of malaysia population , i think it is still better than the special plan before smile.gif

Yes with LTE ready network.
L26 needs add antenna, rru and bbu card
L18 only needs to add one bbu card as antenna and rru using 2G one smile.gif

Or u can say like this, LTE-A = L18 + L26
LTE only = L18

Digi now has 34% LTEA and 76% LTE only coverage
U think which type of sites has more coverage? smile.gif

PS: thr has no/seldom L26 only site outdoor for digi

I just bought a Best Prepaid to test. Certainly 4G has improved in my house since I ported out in June. No danger of falling to H now. Strange thing is now Band 3 and Band 7 LTE at my place has the same cell ID. Maybe it's the carrier aggregation they were talking about.

Anyway I've grown so accustomed to the flexibility of prepaid (I don't subscribe to internet passes all the time), I might end up staying with Hotlink for my main line. But I might just take up Digi Broadband at year end.

Anyone know a good LTE Advanced USB modem?

Off-topic, Unifi is finally available in my neighbourhood; someone is offering RM199 for a 30Mbps line.

016-2211800. You need to have good patient to call them. biggrin.gif

Last time I want to upgrade, I tried calling almost 12 times and need to wait 10 minutes before can talk to them.

I think the fastest method to upgrade by visit to Digi Store.

Just would like to verify about Plan 50.

Is this available for supp line ?

I have tried and key in supp line of detail such as name, IC, phone number. After that, it mentioned that will received confirmation SMS within 3 working days once the plan has been successfully changed. So, is this mean Supp line can be process too ?? hmm.gif

Okay, will then go to Digi centre, cancel the supp line and apply for Principle line for Plan 50

Another option I'm considering, maybe I could subscribe to Postpaid 110 and then have a 2nd SIM (@ RM10) to use as Wireless Broadband at home.

But have to wait for my Celcom First Gold Internet to finish contract.

sorry but i thought Celcom First gold internet is contract-less?

i just terminated it last week. Been using it since this April. so far i don't find it attractive.
6gb anytime data + 4GB separated on weekends + 12GB 1-7am. doh.gif

now i am eyeing on Digi Broadband 145 as my house taman still dont have Streamyx / Unifi.
i also tested digi using LiVe prepaid. So far so good, can get 4G but i find myself have to topup the data quota frequently. rclxub.gif

if i were you, i would stick to prepaid and make use of the pokemon plan while it's still available. on pokemon plan, rm145 gives you 43.5gb for all day usage. in addition, you get savings from gst and cashback when reloading via shopback+lazada.

If u got charged rm10, you went to a digi store that's not a digi centre. For example klcc digi is not a digi centre. Digi centre is free.

Officially there is no "Digi Centre"--you are confusing with "Maxis Centre"--, for Digi, there are only:
  • Digi Store
  • Digi Store Express
  • Digi Specialised Store
Digi Stores are run and owned by Digi themselves, whereas DSE and DSS are run by third-parties (agents/partners).

- No chart
- Digi Best Prepaid V1 is a very old plan started back in 2009.
- Was it about the recent Digi New Best Prepaid V1 (launched 24 August 2015) ?

Digi Best versions
1. Digi Best V1 -> V2 -> V3 -> V4
2. Digi New Best V1 -> V2

Anyone able to answer ? which plan got Digi Super Long Life with the old price RM 30 ?

New Best v1 has SLL at RM38/year but it's no longer possible to upgrade to that plan. No one has it for RM30/year any more either.

For 2gb weekend, your phone need to be on 4G/LTE at all time to used up the weekend quota on sat & sun.
Does your phone support 4G/LTE?

Don't change to prepaid live. free quota is for video & music streaming ONLY.

I don't work there but I frequently go there and I have to agree on this, Digi is very inconsistent there.

New Best v1 has SLL at RM38/year but it's no longer possible to upgrade to that plan. No one has it for RM30/year any more either.

Sorry my mistake , maybe it's RM38 last year. But I remember few years ago really RM 30 only.
Now all plan v1234 having RM38 but really confusing , I search online and get this chart result.Does digi changed them recently ?

@Maxieos

You are right, it was RM30 for many years but no more.

DG Community would be a good source of info, I'd suggest posting your query there to get latest update from DG staff.

All those Best versions in that chart are now legacy plans in that you can't sign up to these plans anymore. They are only of interest for those who still hold on to them.

If you want a new Best Prepaid account or upgrade/port in from another plan right now, you will get Digi Best Prepaid 2016.

guys, i'm planning on porting from celcom to digi.

1)do you need to pay any upfront payment to subscribe to any digi postpaid plan?
2)my current celcom plan got primary and secondary line. do i need to separate this account into 2 celcom account first or i can port right away to digi?

the new digi smart plan 80 and 50 are good enuf for me and my wife i think. now my celcom first plan might cost me nearly 180 per month for very little data quota 5gb per month.

Hi everyone.

i'm using digi smart prepaid with free 2GB on the weekend. Currently i keep renewing rm35 raya promo for 3GB with 10 GB midnight internet and free 5GB music freedom. I just renew my subscription 3 days ago,and realise that my music freedom quota depleted about 700 MB even though i never open any of the apps related to the digi music freedom. Any idea what else will contributed to this?
I do have some music apps installed but none are open since last week..really curious what happen here.

The carrier update can be triggered anytime if there is any even not from ios update.
Remember that I went to hong kong with my iphone 5. I bought a sim card there. After I turn on data, phone is showing LTE. After a while of using it, receive a carrier update, LTE become 4G.

RM50 for 5GB only just because you don't have 4G device. Just think of the 4G data is a bonus. Buy a modem or 4G capable cheap phone and use it as a hotspot.

Like ghost sim? Those are illegals because the sims bypass a telco's tower security in order to provide services like data.

All those Best versions in that chart are now legacy plans in that you can't sign up to these plans anymore.  They are only of interest for those who still hold on to them.

If you want a new Best Prepaid account or upgrade/port in from another plan right now, you will get Digi Best Prepaid 2016.

About Digi Best Prepaid 2016 P2Pplan is it same as you said Digi Best Prepaid 2016 , some search around mention when upgrade to the package to RM68 for 365 days will get 500mb free but capped at 56kbs speed.
Is it true with free 500mb every month ??? but can 56kbs enough for any VOIP to someone like whatapps recording and whatapps/skype called ?

Thanks smile.gif

This is what is called Basic Internet. It's good enough for instant messaging and light browsing (use Opera Mini to surf Lowyat.net for instance) but 56kbps is definitely not adequate for VOIP.

roamBorder is not free for Postpaid 80.

It is RM5 a month until Dec 2017 if you activate before 1 Dec 2016. If you activate on or after 1 Dec, then it's RM30 a month.

I think your friend's phone was on LTE Band 3 (1800MHz) whereas your phone was on LTE Band 7 (2600MHz).

The iPhone 5 was probably that model that didn't support LTE Band 7. Those newer phones which support both Band 3 and 7 LTE will always give priority to the higher frequency band (because higher throughput) even though typically Band 7 will have weaker signal (less penetration).

And Digi typically, but not always, has weaker 4G signal than Maxis.

I was in a Digi Store today to find out more about Digi's latest Postpaid plans.

Some of the things I found out:
  • Right now, internet sharing with other lines is not yet available.
  • When Internet Sharing does become available, the weekend quota cannot be shared, only the main quota ("All Day") can be shared. This sucks as I was weighing the option of signing up to Postpaid 110 and having a second SIM to use as Broadband.
  • RoamBorder is meant for regular visitors to Singapore. Once you sign up, you will be charged RM30 a month even if you don't visit Singapore that month. (Right now the promotion is that if RoamBorder is activated before 1/12/2016, Postpaid 80 users will get RM25 discount a month for 12 months and Postpaid 110 users will get RM30 discount a month for 12 months).

mine explain why?
10gb weekdays
10gb weekends

thats all rite?

if old plan?

7gb per months.
15gb music freedom.
unlimited whatsapp/wechat? <---where to see this sos.
u usre RM10/8gb is gone?  doh.gif  doh.gif
*
Old DiGi Postpaid 80 comes with 10gb data (7gb + 3gb) while the new DiGi Postpaid 80 plan comes with 20gb data (10gb + 10gb) which is a whopping 10gb more compared to the previous plan. And even if you're constantly in areas where DiGi LTE 4G service is weak or unavailable, this plan is still good in the sense that you'll still have 10gb of usable data whether you're on 3G or LTE 4G network. The other 10gb LTE 4G weekend data only is considered a bonus which you can still use if you're in a place where DiGi LTE 4G is available.

The old plan comes with unlimited SMS only to your 3 nominated numbers while the new plan comes with 300 SMS per billing cycle to all network. 300 free SMS these days is more than suffice for most users who still regularly use the SMS service.

Some people may not like that the new plan doesn't come with unlimited WhatsApp and WeChat but this is where the unlimited calls feature come in handy. I've said it before that people nowadays are overly reliant on WhatsApp. They will just send you a message on WhatsApp even if it is an urgent matter which I can never brain what they are thinking. But these days I simply do not care anymore. Don't be mad at me if you need to find me urgently but I did not reply your WhatsApp message like until a few hours later. WhatsApp is meant to be used for casual chat, as well as to replace MMS as MMS is expensive. It is never meant to completely replace SMS or call service. Need to find me urgently ? Call me. Need to ask something that's important but not so urgent to the point that you need an immediate reply from me ? Send me an SMS. Wanna have a casual chat with me ? Feel free to send me a message on WhatsApp smile.gif

Agree on this part. Not everyone have constant and stable internet connection 24/7. Call and SMS are here to stay even we have many alternative nowadays.

It is RM5 a month until Dec 2017 if you activate before 1 Dec 2016.  If you activate on or after 1 Dec, then it's RM30 a month.

thanks for the comments I just ported in. the website information is abit misleading. "RM80 above" sounds like RM80 and above.
It should have been "above RM80".

I also agree on this, but it should be related to 6S CA.

suspect maxis dun have CA at the area, hence
His phone 1800mhz, full bar
His fren phone 1800mhz, full bar

DiGi has CA at the area, hence
His phone 2600mhz + 1800mhz, showing 2600mhz signal at his phone, 2 bars
His fren phone no CA, hence 1800mhz full bar

blink.gif

*checked 5s and SE not support CA, both cat 4 phones. while 6s support CA (cat 6)
Of coz, need to get my point correct if
1) Maxis has no CA at the location he mentioned
2) Phone showing 2600mhz signal instead of 1800mhz signal when CA

Soon the trend will become the company profit still increasing while total subscribers drop (like maxis)

Haizz, I missed the old 78V package. especially the internet add-on. $10 for 8gb was the best!

These new postpaid plans are getting ridiculous and very similar to celcom where they have weekdays and weekends quota. I hate that.

They've taken out unlimited whatsapp, which to me is a devious move by digi. Its not mentioned in the plan obviously, and I wouldn't have known if I hadn't read this thread.

I'm inclined to subscribe to the new 110 plan, but I think I need to know more about what else they change compared to the previous plans. For one, I really wanna know whats the package for internet add on.

Anybody have subcribe to their crossborder plan?

I have subscribe to roamboarder roaming plan, which suppose to work with Starhub Singapore. I have received email and sms confirmation that I have already successfully subscribe to this plan. Yesterday, when I try to use the data in Singapore, I have ensure that my roaming network is locked to Starhub only. To my surprise, I was being charged for the RM38 per day roaming and when I try to check my data, it say I have no roaming plan. Even mydigi apps does not show any data for roaming and when I check the plan i Subscribe to, roamborder roaming plan is there. So what is happening? rclxub.gif I have posted at Digi community for two days, no reply. Now I am writing on their facebook. Still no reply, then go MCMC. vmad.gif

Of course it's illegal. It's not on Digi's website and it's not advertised in Digi outlets. This opens the network to abuse and genuine users suffer. Please stop even mentioning this.

Yay, my home area has finally got LTE-A blanket coverage, even indoors, according to Digi's coverage map. Unfortunately I don't have a LTE-A device to confirm. So I'll be on the lookout for a decently priced LTE-A USB modem. Right now all the modems I see are a bit too expensive (>RM300). Fingers crossed the price will come down in 2017.

Digi are using interband LTE-A. If your device only support intraband LTE-A, you still can't access it but interband supported device can access both type of LTE-A.

RM10 minimum balance after transfer, example to send RM3 you need at least RM13.50 credit. So, you'll need to spend your last RM10 on something else.

*
don't think so.

nowadays, even though they said it's a promotion, but eventually it will become the 'standard' plan going forward, if not better.

Competition is tough yo

RM10 minimum balance after transfer, example to send RM3 you need at least RM13.50 credit. So, you'll need to spend your last RM10 on something else.

Should be the same across all devices. Oneplus 3 has all the bands required for Digi's network, so it is up to your it's radio performance and there cell tower signal strength and wall penetration.

I can't find one, but if your phone does support 3X20MHz CA, it definitely does. As for 2X20MHz, the only way is to try it on your own.

Zher is right. Many cat6 out thr are fake CA which only support intra band.
And the only 3CA i saw s7 edge/s7 seems promising
Something like combine all frequency to 2CA combination

But fyi, iphone 6s/6s+/7/7+ seems support all 2CA... But iphone screen wont let u know u r in 4G+ or no.

So it is safe to assume that S7 is fully compatible with Digi's LTE-A? I know I was connected to LTE-A before.

So other than Galaxy S7/S7 Edge, all the other phones cannot take advantage of Digi's LTE-A?

And Digi says nothing about this?

Do note that this speedtest includes international routing and speed performance. The famous speedtest.net typically is for local network and actually test the tower's capacity. My unifi 30 only achieves around 10mbps laugh.gif So I consider his result extremely excellent.

Yeah, should be like 50Mbps. Sometimes manage to get 42-45Mbps but not using speedtest.net. I've always preferred fast.com as it will show you the real speed.

On my Galaxy S4, I managed > 50 Mbps on the Maxis network but in the OpenSignal app. On fast.com, can't get it beyond 15 Mbps, usually under 10 Mbps.

Digi prepaid best 2016(which is the latest) has 500mb of basic quota(64kbps). Can refer to Digi's website (right now b4 the plan changes again) to check the SLL rates. http://new.digi.com.my/cs/Satellite/ecomm_.../Prepaid_Reload

Meanwhile, Digi new best v2(which is mine tongue.gif ) also has 500mb of basic quota and eligible to register IDDIC to get 1GB of basic quota. SLL rates are the same like digi prepaid best 2016 for now.

How about trying to update to iOS 10.1? I think there's also a new carrier update inside this update.

well, digi has blocked facetime audio and whatsapp call for its basic internet 64kbps quite a while ago. Most likely wechat voip is blocked too.

In their T&C, they state very clearly that VOIP will be blocked for its basic 64kbps free internet.

New postpaid plan ( Postpaid 80 and 110 ) no longer bundled with 15GB Music Freedom. You need to subscribe separately.

There is no specific way of making calls through VoLTE, just make calls like you always do. If the requirements are met, you will be making calls over VolLTE.
