Can
Move to newer apartment that uses full fiber connection

For older apartments that uses copper also can, tell the building management to pay for the Fiber layout
Kalau BM banyak soal, tell everyone in the building to stop paying service charge until BM agree to pay for the Fiber layout

My neighbor upgraded from 4mb to 30mb 2 months ago. She told me not to upgrade as ever since she upgraded to 30mb, she has trouble with the internet. A lot of downtimes and the speed is even slower than 4mb occasionally.

I am on 10mb. Really tempted to upgrade to 30mb. But after hearing this, it kinda put me off.

Is this an isolated case or does this happen a lot? Doesn't really make sense to me... Same line, same modem, just different speed so why is there a problem all of a sudden?

Thanks for your input. After doing some reading today, I believe those that upgraded to 30 or 50mb need to buy a new router as the router provided by TM can't handle the new speed. My neighbor didn't buy a new router so I believe that is the issue.

It doesn't make sense for her internet to have so many problems just by upgrading to a faster plan. No changes at all.

Did your neighbour complaint to TM instead to you only? TM may be about to troubleshoot the problem. TM router may need to replace with new one free of charge. What for need to buy new router by your own.

They just change new router for you if it is FAULTY,if not faulty, they not change for you and they just troubleshooting the router setting, they will say go to buy router yourself if you feel that the router provided by TM have problem.

rclxub.gif all 3 households of my relatives using TM provided router for years with around 10 devices each before I upgraded to WS880 when it was cheap, no router-related problems at all....

'everything' and 'everyone' so easy to say. Doesn't make it true.

My AC 1200 DIR815L, is working fine as well, as was my previous modem/router on streamyx/unifi

And yeah, there are some users who had experience some isolated issues, but it aint right to generalize as you said... smile.gif

Honestly speaking the stock router for me is working well too just that the WiFi signal is weak, cannot reach most of the places at home. I added AP earlier to use the WiFi signal and now also using WS880.

Just curious, did you tried changing the wifi channels (or use wifi analyzer to validate best channels)?

Did change few times WiFi channels. It is the stock router's issue.
After I added the AP, somehow the signal becomes stronger and WS880's signal also stronger than stock.

I had the same disconnection issues as well when I upgraded to the new 30mbps early this year. Then early this month, my Hypptv box kaput so I called TM and they came and replaced the tv box for free. According to them, when a subscriber upgraded the package, it automatically comes with 1 year warranty on all the devices (TV box, router, residential gateway).

I told them abt the disconnection issues and they told me that the Unifi new Dlink DIR850L router would solved the problem and I asked them how to get the current one (white orange color) replaced with this new one. They say that if the current router is faulty then it will be replaced for FREE.

Last week, 'out of the blue' brows.gif the 6 years old router's antenna broke and I called TM and they came to replaced it with the new DIR850L for free. No more disconnection issue thumbup.gif

btw, the new DIR850L AC1200 comes with dual band, 2.4GHz and 5GHz.
