Hello can anyone tell me that is legit ?

I've requested to TM that I want 30MBPS speed for Rm179 previous promotion price currently is RM199, 3 days later I received a call and they said I'm eligible for this promotion. While gathering all info such as payment, speed etc.. I asked her if I could just go to TM point and upgrade there because I've other bills to pay. She said no TM point will give you the current price then I ask how could you give me the promotion price? and she said she's from sales department and she have authority to do that.

All the equipment remain same(Unifi 5Mbps equipments) as she said she will upgrade from there (Only speeds) I will get another 2 years contract again and 1 year contract for all equipment replacement for free which means I can call TM technicians to change my equipment ( Because I really need to change my router tho ).

Anyone had this experience before ? I haven't upgraded it yet I've requested for 1 day time to consider but still feels a bit suspicious...

Should I do it ?
*
Dont think too much, just grab it.

Selective Promotion normally comes via phone, and if you go to TMP you are not going to get the promotion point, unless the manager willing to talk to you and give you one, that is if s/he is around.

Recently, I had my router changed due to over heating. received DLINK AC1200 DIR 850L.

Last 4 days of monitoring, been good, lesser heat, stable connection on wifi as well.

nope, the last I checked, consumers cannot downgrade below the minimum offering, that is 30Mbps

rclxub.gif all 3 households of my relatives using TM provided router for years with around 10 devices each before I upgraded to WS880 when it was cheap, no router-related problems at all....

'everything' and 'everyone' so easy to say. Doesn't make it true.
*
My AC 1200 DIR815L, is working fine as well, as was my previous modem/router on streamyx/unifi

And yeah, there are some users who had experience some isolated issues, but it aint right to generalize as you said... smile.gif

Honestly speaking the stock router for me is working well too just that the WiFi signal is weak, cannot reach most of the places at home. I added AP earlier to use the WiFi signal and now also using WS880.
*
Just curious, did you tried changing the wifi channels (or use wifi analyzer to validate best channels)?

I had the same disconnection issues as well when I upgraded to the new 30mbps early this year. Then early this month, my Hypptv box kaput so I called TM and they came and replaced the tv box for free. According to them, when a subscriber upgraded the package, it automatically comes with 1 year warranty on all the devices (TV box, router, residential gateway).

I told them abt the disconnection issues and they told me that the Unifi new Dlink DIR850L router would solved the problem and I asked them how to get the current one (white orange color) replaced with this new one. They say that if the current router is faulty then it will be replaced for FREE.

Last week, 'out of the blue'  brows.gif  the 6 years old router's antenna broke and I called TM and they came to replaced it with the new DIR850L for free. No more disconnection issue  thumbup.gif

btw, the new DIR850L AC1200 comes with dual band, 2.4GHz and 5GHz.

hahaha...you nutty fellow....and yeah the DIR850L been serving me well. I'm using 2.4GHz, havent tested with 5GHz yet.

@fruitie and other 30M users

I tag Fruitie is because I only remember her XDD

Okay, I think I might have explanation/answer for why we as 30M user are NOT getting full 30M of speed nowadays.

From my opinion, TM cares about bufferbloat (or simply just want to save bandwidth?)

Bufferbloat means high latency when a network buffering too much of data (at peak of the speed)

Where you can notice ur skype (VOIP) is not stable, ping (gaming) becomes higher or browsing page seems slow responds when someone downloading/uploading at full speed.

Interesting......hmmm but not everyone is getting around 28Mbps, so how would you explain that?

If it still retains, then continue enjoying the good speed. tongue.gif

Hi!
I need help/opinion about my 30mbps unifi which i just installed two days ago. I noticed that webpages load very slowly. However, speedtest download/upload speeds look ok as attached screenshot. Notes on the screenshot:
1) The first line is my celcom mobile data
2) All those on 4-6th october is my unifi
3) September data is unifi at my sister's house

The only difference I can see between my unifi and the mobile data & unifi at my sister's house is my ping value is very low (5-7 vs >10). I asked tm & they said to off and on my modem & router, but after doing that, i still have the same problem. What do you guys think? Is there something wrong with my unifi? Your help/ advice is appreciated

Thank you
Regards,
*
How is the page load when you are on LAN line?

Try downloading "wifi analyzer" on your phone and detect the best channel to use.

Then test it again.

nope, thats abnormal.

QUOTE(Fantasia @ Oct 11 2016, 07:00 PM)
guys, my unifi line is at my second floor. however my family find it inconvenient that they need to go to upstairs just to charge the cordless phone (yes, i know it's not very inconvenient actually but they just prefer have the phone downstairs). may i know is it possible to pull another phone line from the pole outside my house or i have no choice but to relocate everything from upstairs? i prefer the modem to stay upstairs cause it will be easier for me to access to
*
do you have previous phoneline? normally double story houses would have a point each up and downstairs.

If you do, you could reuse it.

Else, get a splitter and run a cable from upstairs to downstairs
