good for you,actually 6 months before white orange color router that provided by TM also got faulty,but they just replace brand new one with the same router,I still feel strange and recently I just called about connection issues at my pc with that router,technician just came and say no problem,ask me to change router myself, then start from that day,I don't want call technician come to our home anymore,waste my time for wait them come...call technician still cannot change router,so what I can say,buy router ourself,that it,I now just use the router that I bought myself,more better than the router that provided by TM and super cheap,only RM49 and no need waste time about the internet issue anymore...

I didn't replace mine though, still the second generation but my friend is not using hers, so she gave it to me.

btw, u should input the numbers exactly same as your package , if u r using bandwidth balance function of the router.

I mean when I upload videos on YouTube,the upload speed is extremely higher until 20mbps or even 25mbps then the other computer load the website extreme slow simultaneously.

you are simply causing bufferbloat for your entire network.

Okay, I think I might have explanation/answer for why we as 30M user are NOT getting full 30M of speed nowadays.

From my opinion, TM cares about bufferbloat (or simply just want to save bandwidth?)

Bufferbloat means high latency when a network buffering too much of data (at peak of the speed)

Where you can notice ur skype (VOIP) is not stable, ping (gaming) becomes higher or browsing page seems slow responds when someone downloading/uploading at full speed.

In short,

Bufferbloat = high ping when downloading/uploading at ISP provided full speed

Solution,

Limit the peak download/uploading speed

For example, 30Mbps will be > 28Mbps

That's it, limiting speed.

And yes, speed scarifies but it gives you a more smoother network.

Back to topic,

now TM limiting 30M > 28M, and suprisingly when we do a bufferbloat speed test, my bufferbloat for downloading is good (low), which means bufferbloat solution is applied here.



Which also means TM is not limiting our speed in a FIXED value?

If fixed 28M, then if I do bufferbloat speed test, I will get higher ping while downloading.

for example (but this is while uploading la)



What I actually means is TM maybe is doing bufferbloat setting in their side (for downloading only)

I have investigate this in few minutes,and it seems resolve by limit the upload bandwidth and put the download bandwitdth full,then just now I just test upload video on YouTube and it seems works,it only can reach 12mbps and the other computer/gadgets can load the website very smooth now.Looks the problem is resolved.

The download speed drop from 30 to 28 reminds me of "the more you gamble in casino, the worst your luck goes". I remembered my VIP20 was above 20 downs and up. Leaving my torrent run overnight and I noticed when I never download anything it doesn't go 20+ anymore

The disconnection you are facing, are you referring to the PPPoE connection being disconnected? Or just the wireless disconnection??
