QUOTE(akecema @ Sep 21 2016, 10:30 AM)
so i ask here la

i wanna ask something especially to who is UNIFI contractor
yesterday i go to my bos home to check her unifi installation.
the contractor install last week but my bos not satisfied with the contractor
because she has to pay CASH rm1500 to the contractor
so after check the installation i also not satisfied, so this is the question.

1. about the CASH my bos paid, as i remember any extra charge will charge on 1st bill not CASH to the contractor. the contractor pull the wire from 100M manhole not the manhole near her house. so the payment because of this.

2. i check the wire from manhole. the contractor pull wire from manhole and use inside longkang(about 40M) before go to my boss house. why they not use manhole to manhole? this is SOP for Unifi contractor? longkang got rat and water la
*
I think your boss get conned by the contractor, as my understanding the cable cost outside the house are not bear by the user, its bear by TM. Your boss better report to TM about his case.

The latest hypptv box come with Google Play App? I have the old Huawei EC6106VS.
Is it possible to request TM to replace with the new box?
*
i get my 4 yrs old 1st gen Hypptv STB replace with the new Huawei EC6106V8 few weeks ago by complain to TM about the screen tearing once awhile. All my devices warranty renew when i upgrade to 100Mbps, so i eligible to change the new STB without charge.

My neighbor upgraded from 4mb to 30mb 2 months ago. She told me not to upgrade as ever since she upgraded to 30mb, she has trouble with the internet. A lot of downtimes and the speed is even slower than 4mb occasionally.

I am on 10mb. Really tempted to upgrade to 30mb. But after hearing this, it kinda put me off.

Is this an isolated case or does this happen a lot? Doesn't really make sense to me... Same line, same modem, just different speed so why is there a problem all of a sudden?
*
So far no issue for me when i upgrade from 10mb to 50mb to 100mb...so far so good, i got what the advertise speed all the time, except major issue on TM side.

any review of 100mbps? thinking upgrade to 100mbps, since times dont know still need how long to reach cheras area.  bangwall.gif

so far i am satisfied with the speed...good for downloading, multiple devices video streaming at the same time. It all depend on ur usage. if u need it just go for it.

You stay in high rise building or landed house? Only FTTH can apply for 100Mbps. U cant get 100Mbps package if u stay in high rise building with VDSL

thx for reply. landed house here, so i think is possible to subscribe. the 100mbps is same as 50mbps asymmetrical network?
*
All the new unifi package now is asymmetrical. Unifi pro is 100Mbps download, 50Mbps upload. Even it's asymmetrical, but i can downloading and uploading with full speed at the same time. Not like streamyx, when u upload with full speed your download speed will get effected.

if you still using the old tm router then they will change the new router for you, and also if your current btu doesn't have gigabit port, they will change for you new btu with gigabit port.

Need a little more details...I presume you are on single phase?

Have you tested your router, with wifi and lan? Are they working fine? If so, then its not router problem.

As for the homeplug, are you using it on an extension or direct to the wall?

You could also bring the homeplug downstairs closer to the router and test it from there.
*
i think you miss understanding his question. The adapter he referring to is usb wifi adapter (TP-LINK Adapter TL-WN821N), not homeplug.

after 8 years waiting for unifi.

today I am getting installation.

bufferbloat test on streamyx line.

http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest/5333114
I have been reading. So as per advise I should limit my connection speed to 28mbps down and 9mbps up?
[attachmentid=7782200]
*
Not necessary to set bandwidth control for Unifi, unless you really face bufferbloat issue. I have been using Unifi for 4 years already never face any bufferbloat issue, while upload full speed, i always can browse with no problem, even can get full speed for download.

bufferbloat test result (with another 1 laptop, 2 ipads streaming video)

they gave me Dir-850L...found wifi always drop connection...
*
I got both, given by TM. C5 wifi coverage and signal strength is better.
