they sucks not because of FD can't do on weekend banking, last year inside bank ask them question, they dare to tell you to use phone to call hq instead for answer, i mean what are they paid for there? Call hotline and get transferred here and there and no answer given. Walk off furiously after make withdrawal. Told myself that was the last time doing business with them.

This year thought maybe improved, so call their hotline to ask general question, they cannot reply, so transfer to other branch and no one answer, do that few times gave up.

RHB really not up the banking standard, in both their HR and CS policy. This time give me 4% also i better choose HLB or other banks instead.

my neighborhood grocery shop aunty gives better service any day than those high almighty RHB staffs.

Need to rant a little here for their lousy CS. Ok back to FD topic.

OK, did not mention this few days ago. For my AmBank FD that matured on last week Sat, only terminated it on Tuesday due to the weekend and Monday holidays. Asked for the additional interest from AmBank. Received it in my SA 1 day later. About RM60.

So do ask them if u have FD due on Sat/Sun and they can credit it for u. If u don't ask, u will not get it. Unlike UOB or BR which will adjust FD maturity automatically to working days during placement. biggrin.gif

Update:

1. HLB 4% need 2 extra product to be eligible, so it's not pure FD.

2. RHB 12m quota finished

3. end up with Maybank 4mths 3.6%, and expecting better promo in next few months..

also just realized that the FD cert printed by Maybank did not have the word "Fixed Deposit" to clearly state the type of document it prints.

Funny how our biggest bank print a receipt that doesn't state clearly what document it is. Look at your Maybank FD cert and you will be shocked. Don't ask me why it took me so long to noticed it.

what is difference between islamic and conventional FD for Hong Leong?

found the answer here: https://www.imoney.my/fixed-deposit-islamic (under FAQ tab)

investments for islamic is Shariah compliant.. more for muslims to consider. % profit is still same unless stated otherwise.

Yes, you can. I placed a few because the bank I transferred from had a maximum daily limit. So I had to do it in multiple tranches. But on different days la. Same day I'm not sure but I don't see why it should be a problem.
