Would like to ask how to calculate CIMB Ismalic FD.
put RM50k for 3 months and the interest is 4%pa (from Jun to Sep)
then from Sep to Dec, the interest become 3.95% . and the statement showing that i earn RM502.73. how to calculate it?
Looks like
92 days from June to September 2016, principal 50,000, rate 4% p.a. calculated as
92/366 x 50,000 x 4/100 = 502.7322404... interest given as 502.73.
The divisor for 2016 appears to be 366 for CIMB.
Seems like 91 days from September to December 2016. If principal is still 50,000, rate 4% p.a. then calculated as
91/366 x 50,000 x 4/100 = 497.2677595....
If so, does CIMB give 497.26 or 497.27 as interest?
If add interest to old principal, then new principal becomes 50,502.73 and then
91/366 x 50,502.73 x 4/100 = 502.2675879...
In this add on case, doe CIMB give 502.26 or 502.27 as interest to jorrne00?
It has been some years since I stopped having FD at CIMB, so not sure how things are calculated at present time.
