Yes, and there are ppl already porting MIUI 8 from special edition that run on android 6.0 to redmi note 3. Reading on the review seems like things is working flawlessly except the fingerprint problem with newer fp hardware.

more likely those on goodix might have problem

I was about to unlock my fastboot to upgrade to miui8 when I read that it will be released on 16 aug. Then someone said it was postponed to 23 aug because they want to include the quadrooter fix. So I'll just wait a few more days cause I don't want to risk doing fastboot way.

Hey guys..anyone knows how to flash global stable rom from china rom using recovery method for the snapdragon version..?

im currently on MIUI 7.4.9.0 Stable edition (comes with this when bought, think its somewhat modified by reseller.).

I guess im on locked bootloader as i get the "phone with usb cable" picture when at recovery mode.

Anyone can point me on how to do this..? already went through miui forum but keeps getting link not found for the mi flash tool and other things as well..

It took me a while to understand the difference between recovery mode, download mode, fastboot mode and edl mode.

Nobody bothers to make a simple differentiation between these major flashing techniques

Exactly, nobody tell it simple, and these flashing techniques are not simple for normal user.

Yesterday night just flash an AP set RN3 to Global Stable rom with fastboot mode, guess the phone already been unlocked bootloader before.
The AP set being flashed by vendor with custom MIUI China rom that cannot download update and detect "zip" update file, stuck at MIUI version 7.3.6.0, so I decide to take risk. Luckily one take success, no error found. Just using a Windows 10 tablet/laptop hybrid with 32bit OS, and using MiFlash of 32bit version to flash.

Hope that all vendor that selling AP set help to directly flash to global stable rom.
Using the "Updater" is the easiest way to flash, then leave those people who wish to flash custom rom to use other method to flash to whatever rom they like.

How long was the delivery? Are u in klang valley?

Normally those item buy from online store like Gemfive, Lazada, Lelong, 11Streets takes 2 to 4 days to arrive, only some will deliver the next day.
I live at north area (Kedah, Penang, Perak) and normally delivery takes 2 days, meaning if order on Monday, Wednesday will get it.

Normally the problem is on the courier service where from my various tracking, always late to pickup the item from merchant, where the merchant always ready packing the item on the day of the orders.

Those online store will send you the tracking code once the item really shipped out, in email, and sms.
But no need worry, all item will arrived safely no matter what you buy.Just need to be patient.

Unless the item is shipped from oversea (normally on Lazada and 11street), where you may have to make attention on the shipment where it may over 2 weeks, and up to 1 month.

Just use normal compression. No need to go up till superfine. Not much difference in picture quality but huge file size difference.

Make sure subject is focused before capture. Sometimes they focused on the background and haven't focus on the subject. Then u have to tap on the subject to focus.

For those on developer rom. Please do not update to miui 8 weekly 6.8.18. Got fingerprint wakelock issue (again, same as 6.8.4/5). Stable one would be 6.8.11.

Phone will not go to deepsleep if flashing either 6.8.4/5 or 6.8.18. If facing such issue, flash to miui 8 weekly rom 6.8.11 which is the most stable weekly rom atm.

Receive RN3 32gb (SD650) from Lazada (also Terabyte) yesterday for RM679, pay on Wednesday, receive in Friday. Battery life is impressive! the camera is good for outdoor. Heavy games performance was really good!. Buying in behalf on my neigbours actually, now thinking to buy another 1 foy myself.

Gemfive normally a bit slower, weekend no service, delivery normally pickup on Monday, delivered on Wednesday.

officially unlocked? well you have to flash twrp recovery manually.. unlocking doesn't give you recovery automatically..

I tried to flash twrp using fastboot but can't seem to replace the original recovery and it will always boot to the phone and cable screen.

Need to fastboot boot the twrp image manually, allow change, then flash the twrp image then apply the universal boot patcher.
Goddam hard to do compared to any my previous phone. Waste 3 hours of my life becos there's no detailed guide.

Don't think anymore.

i took it like less than 10mins...to flash twrp..all already linked on 2nd post for now.

Yes I did.
It flashed correctly, returned success status.

Even copied the command and paste in command prompt. Tried multiple recovery image safe, coffice, alka, standard twrp, flash successive times.
Nothing stick and it'll always boot recovery back to the phone and cable image.

Seem all xiaomi from terabyte is cheaper by RM100!!!

weird, never have such issues after unlocked few xiaomi redmi note 3.. all unlocked fine and flashed twrp, root without any problem

Actually Lazada now got sold the original set, also can apply 10% credit card discount.
Finally price for original set 32GB is RM764. Price different to AP set is round RM150.
Not a bad choice also considering the AP warranty.
