I think somebody here just share the OTA file (copy the file from ur phone out before u guys apply update) and post here, since this OTA update might just small portion of user get it so if they wan manually update they can download the ota file and flash via updater manually

I just visit this webpage:
http://en.miui.com/download-301.html#438

I cannot find the MIUI v8 for Qualcomm Global, so the link above is for MTK?
*
Eventually this update is just Global Stable Beta so it won't appears at the MIUI download website since it's nightly update
And u can easily differing Qualcomm and MTK, for Redmi note 3 Snapdragon, the prefix for Global stable is always start with LHOMID

Ya i also downloaded this.. global stable rom
*
QUOTE(ameri @ Aug 27 2016, 08:26 PM)
But I saw some screenshots here say Nightly which is beta right?
*
Should say is Global Stable Beta which overall is almost bug free except the user is found out new bug, if this version is no issues then they will release the next version as the official Global Stable
But ofc redmi note 3 now working on marshmallow MIUI 8, so unnecessary updated to this version since the next version will definitely is marshmallow, this version most likely is the final testing of those features

Thanks for the clarification.
If I update to this Nightly build manually (download ROM and use Updater app), will I be able to receive OTA stable build update later when it's made available?

MM MIUI is still in the work, maybe until next year only release
*
Yea u still will receive OTA stable build since this is still also stable build
According to the news at miui forum, most likely they will release MM MIUI 8 on next month, since that build also in Open Beta Test

Its a stable rom to me. None of my phone info state that its beta. Definitely all rom have bug. Even window 10 also will have bug.
*
Well although the info is show Global Stable but it is still not public stage since initially this OTA is been pushed to small amount of users unless you download manually and flash it. So that small amount of users are become Beta tester of this Global Stable ROM.
Also this ROM is not release fastboot ROM, and make the recovery ROM public to the MIUI download page, so indeed this ROM is just kind of "final testing" before they testing the official Global Beta

Hi guys, really need an expert to help me out here.. i've tried few ways to update to miui 8 but still failed:

1. downloaded the Global rom and flash using Updater app. The system read info halfway, reboot my device and theres no flashing interface appear, instead, it reboot to normal interface screen.

2. using Mi Pc Suite to update. dont have any latest update.

3. using the updater app to automatically detect update. No updates at all. i suspect my Updater app isn working at all, when i click "what's new" or "download update package", it says cant connect to network even if i have connection via wifi or data..

4. Flash Global Rom using Mi Pc Suite, system says couldnt flash.  Is it because i didnt unlock bootloader?
*
What's ur current firmware version first?
Ur phone might installed unofficial ROM or China ROM with play store install

Hi, is there a proper guide to do this flashing by EDL mode? i could find it from google but myself i also not good in flashing phones, on the safer side i rather rely on tutorials recommended by experts to be safe.  thanks...

Just follow the guide here

http://en.miui.com/thread-235865-1-1.html

Backup important stuff like contacts, photos, notes since it might totally wipe your phone.
