I was about to unlock my fastboot to upgrade to miui8 when I read that it will be released on 16 aug. Then someone said it was postponed to 23 aug because they want to include the quadrooter fix. So I'll just wait a few more days cause I don't want to risk doing fastboot way.

those who have tried cm13 or resurrection remix, can comment whether it is worth upgrading to those roms? I really do not like MIUI. That is the reason why xiaomi is only my "play" phone. Not my main phone.

wondering why my RN3 SD still don't have updates. It's on 7.3.70 Stable.

Will wait a few more days. If still no update then I will do it manually. Just find it strange why some people already got the update and some doesn't. Also why some can only update to 7.3.7.0 while others have 7.5.3.0.

is there anyway to check if my rom is vendor ROM or official ROM? What is Download/edl method?

nope..nothing chinese. No ads crap. Looks like a legit global rom and if I remember correctly after getting the phone, I did manage to upgrade the ROM once to this latest stable version.

yup..already checked that many times and everything in order. I think I will wait a few more days. Cause I can see many people in the miui forum also complaining still no update for their RN3 SD.

I just got prompt for update to miui8 at last!!! It's 505mb...updating now.

upgraded successfully!! Seems smooth but still too early to tell.

I have also downloaded quad root checker and found that it is NOT fixed!! Still have 2 vulnerabilities as before upgrade.

a lot of people complain about miui 8 missing the battery profile feature. Cannot schedule for different battery schedule anymore. Hope they bring it back cause it is a very good feature to save battery.

I notice a bug which I am not sure if it's MIUI issue or xiaomi phone issue. When you are playing games, if in the middle of gaming you receive SMS or whatsapp or other alerts (which will create a alert sound), your game will lost it's sound. You have to restart the game for the sound to come back.

i think this happen both when I am using miui 7 and miui 8.

SCB CC still can use in gemfive? I thought the promo ends on june 2016.

i can't unlock my bootloader because it says not cannot verify my device. Anyone know how to contact xiaomi to get them fix this issue? Lots of people posting the problem in miui forum but no solution

why want to upgrade from 650 to 652? The difference is so minimal.
