QUOTE(mzriders @ Dec 5 2024, 12:59 PM) Thanks for the advise. Does it help if I ensure all the major service item are checked out or replaced before taking this? Yeah but ensure small item were replaced as well. Example if the previous owner changed absorber. Make sure he/she also did replace the absorber mounting/bearing/ coil spring set. another example brake disk+ brake drum+ brake pump. Lower arm+stabilizer link+stabiliser bush. Etc etc. car part are link together and if you just change 1 part only, there will be times down the road the other part will failed or uneven wear and tear.Check aircond service record as well. If previous owner did all that, maybe its a good purchases. If not, calculated first how much u need to spend to replace all these wear n tear and whter it worth it. Keep in mind interest rate for used car very high too. Other than that its a good car. Proven n reliable. Spare part availability also no problem. So, good luck bro. This post has been edited by ipat88: Dec 6 2024, 11:38 AM |

QUOTE(dogbert_chew @ Dec 12 2024, 11:29 PM) From Japanese ICE sedan hatch to China SUV and EV sedan hatch. Agreed, that list is all over the place. Budget aside, suggest narrow down the bodytype and powertrain first. Then list down the priorities - reliability, resale, performance, range, image? What is important eg for daily work city drive? I like a SUV, leaning towards ICE and I guess reliability is my #1 priority. I've heard good things about Mazda's after sales service, but I am not the biggest fan of the CX-5, and the CX30 feels too small, hence willing to consider Mazda 3. I like the look and features of the Jaecoo C9 but reliability and aftersales is a ? for me. Haven't spoken to owners yet. QUOTE(markypcs @ Dec 13 2024, 10:54 AM) Agreed, that list is all over the place. I follow the Tiggo 8 Owner Whatapps group and got it from their FB. Back then, it was kind of the first time the model was CKD at the Kulim branch, and the first batch had a sort of teething issue (understood). But maybe they really want this market; they did well for repair under warranty. Then, almost one year later, a few owners I know said there were no more issues with the car (Tiggo 8). They just disappointed cz now got 15k rebates.I like a SUV, leaning towards ICE and I guess reliability is my #1 priority. I've heard good things about Mazda's after sales service, but I am not the biggest fan of the CX-5, and the CX30 feels too small, hence willing to consider Mazda 3. QUOTE(FrogBlob @ Dec 3 2024, 10:06 AM) 2012 dugong vios ~25-30k in carsome. same year honda city around same price. Thanks for the recommendation.any young children? if need seats with isofix go for the city, the facelifted city (chrome grill) has isofix whereas the vios does not. do you drive long distance often? everyday driving distance? these info may help others give you better advice as well If i can bump this budget up to 40-50k what would you recommend? I think Perodua is fine for me as well. Consideration is still reliability, it is my first car after moving to KL, I'm still on the fence if this is for trasitionary or I will still with it for like 10 years. At the current moment I work from home and don't travel around frequently since I have a desk job. But I would like to explore the better part of Peninsula hopefully when I have the car. So long distance driving possibly once in a while. About to start a family but not sure children when, so I'm not sure about the baby seating situation. |

QUOTE(dogbert_chew @ Dec 16 2024, 12:03 AM) How about the brand new Lexus UX200 RM251K or Ux200 too small for my liking. I don’t like the risk of recon that why I m still struggling of getting one hahathe slightly larger Harrier RM274K instead of risking a recon? Out of curiosity, which aspect of the new Corolla Cross RM141K is inadequate for you? Cross would be a no brainer but I m looking for an upgrade for the now. Its like we are getting old so why not treat yourself better now as when you get too old to drive it wouldn’t matter to drive what car anymore dogbert_chew liked this post

QUOTE(8066 @ Dec 16 2024, 12:34 AM) Thanks for the recommendation. at this price point can actually go for a decent new car. either myvi or persona would be great. If i can bump this budget up to 40-50k what would you recommend? So long distance driving possibly once in a while. About to start a family but not sure children when, so I'm not sure about the baby seating situation. if dont mind used i'd get the newest city you can get. at around 50k which is 2016-2017 city, depending on spec and condition. if want no frills and peace of mind, go for new, year end should have discounts if dont mind year end model. for baby in future, any car from 2013 should be ok since they come with isofix mounts, so you can choose between isofix baby seats or normal seatbelt baby seats. just have to know that baby seats are actually quite large, most times they eat a bit more than 1 person worth of seating space, so a smaller car like a bezza (or any a-segment cars like axia) might be a bit tight if you're carrying more people sometimes. but this is a problem for the future lah. most important go test drive and see in person dogbert_chew liked this post

Agree that the MPV Alza would be helpful for travel IF this car is for longer term usage. 2nd hand Alza (pre 2022 variant) is pretty good, not expensive to maintain (but no ISOFIX).If she already has a small hatchback, perhaps you can consider Alza 62K for long distance holidays with her and family not to mention sufficient space for baby seats |
