Getting Started

|
QUOTE(clon12 @ Oct 23 2025, 01:34 PM) Yeah currently planning get it by end of this year hoping for more discounts being lashed out. Currently gotten an offer for 7k discount plus tinted and dashcam as free gift for the X50 Premium variant. 4k is by Proton and another 3k is by the SA himself. Honda City is also giving out 15k discount but like I mentioned the interior is dated and not to my liking. Was waiting for Nexis but the waiting game has gone on for too long until I am no longer interested hahaha. Wow, 7k discount is better than mine. I only got 4k + another 1124 (which I have no idea what discount is that, I think the SA mentioned is by their company). Free gifts include A200 70mai dashcam, 200 tint voucher, coilmat. Mine is also X50 Premium.

I in dilemma between buying Perodua Bezza or Proton Saga MC3. My previous car is Nissan Almera N17, recently I just sold it. And at my house I have Perodua Ativa, serve purpose as my wife daily drive. And a weekend car. Im currently looking for daily drive car, from point a to point b. i did my test drive last week, when i drove perodua bezza i feel like its really small for myself (173 cm height and 100kg weight). but when i test drive proton saga, the size is okay for me and the comfort while driving. To be frank, considering this car i will use daily and paying for the next 9 years. If I take new proton saga mc3, it will be much better and future proof. but on the other hand, if I pick perodua bezza. sacrificing comfort. I will save lot more money on fuel consumption. and also proven maintenance records (which is way much cheaper than proton). the only concern for me is, proton saga offered 1.5 engine in a segment sedan which is very tempting for me coming from nissan almera n17 with 1.5 engine.

Saga size okay and comfort future proof 1.5 engine Bezza FC and maintenance how much cheaper.. RM30/month? 🤔 Can afford, takyah downgrade ambik Saga je Jika masih Bezza, jgn makan nasi kurangkan berat 20kg, dah comfort balik 😁

Maybe I should consider that, tbh the saga just recently release. so we still dont know yet the issues. Maybe the most kosong variant if i want bang for bucks, bezza 1.0 g? considering myself only travel alone, from klang to kl. and weekend i have other car.

Saga issues if any should be minor. Chassis lama, gearbox lama, engine also used in other Geely models. 39K for 1.5L really cannot find anywhere else. Bezza 1.0 is 4AT, chassis also very old. Not recommend. Ard 37K? For me would rather pay 3K more get new DNGA chassis with the excellent D-CVT gearbox, Axia X 40K if worried about Saga baru launch.

Im kinda suggest a new Saga since they use a newer engine. But will opted for the non-premium variant due to the GB used. The Punch CVT used is just the old model CVT as in the other Proton CVT model, where it is the same as in my 2015 Iriz 1.6. It's a kind of hated-love situation with the GB. If stuck in jam, u will hate it more due to slower response (due to Clutch-based CVT), sometimes it rev high rpm like the GB ECU no idea what is that current situation etc, and high rpm at even 120kmh which wont make it good FC as rival where they can get 2k rpm or lower at that cruising speed, I ended up closer to 3k rpm (2.7k+ rpm). Tried few model CVT with a torque converter-based, its a day and night situation, so choose a non-premium unit with 4 gear auto definitely will have a similar feedback as that. Good thing, it has been reliable so far; put new CVT oil every 30k km interval. People said the Geely-based Proton CVT is already tuned for better response, et,c but I have not tested it yet.
