1. First of all, is your Seller still owing the bank any money? If so, he needs to do a settlement with the bank first. You probably need to make an agreement with him that you write a cheque and get him to settle the bank loan first. Within a week, the car will be ready for transfer.

2. Seller to proceed to Puspakom to have his car checked. He need to provide you with the B5 (for JPJ transfer). This will cost him RM30. Or he can get a runner to do it, add about RM100 (he will bear it all).

3. You need to purchase the insurance for the car. You can use iMoney to get more information on this and compare before going to the insurance agent/office.

4. Bring your Puspakom documents and Insurance cover note and proceed to JPJ to complete the transfer.
a) Both Seller and Buyer must be present. If not, you need to get a commissioner of oaths to verify the absent parties on a Borang Akuan (JPJ-SAB01 and JPJ-SAB02). Write a simple authorization letter for a representative along with photocopies of his identification card.

b) Fill up Borang TM-1 and two copies of JPJ-K3.

c) Transfer costs is borne by the Buyer (i.e. you) and should cost RM100. If you do not have the time, you can hire a runner to do it (add about RM200).

5. Once done, you pay the Seller the rest of the money owed and Seller will hand over the car and keys to you. This can also happen in step 1, depending on your arrangement with your Seller.

HERE is a guide on what to look out for and test to do before buying a used Honda City/Jazz with CVT. It may also be used for other cars with CVT as the technology is the same but this article was written specifically for Honda Jazz/City.

1. Brand : Undecided between used Nissan Teana & Honda Accord (2010/2011)
2. Budget : RM70,000
3. New/Used/Unreg : Used
4. Specs : 2.0
5. Transmission : AT
6. NA or FI : -
7. Type : Sedan
8. Remarks :

Dear fellow forumers,

I currently alternate between driving a Honda Odyssey and Proton Iriz. The Honda has auto-cruise feature, hence I use it for long distance journeys.
However, the Honda is getting old (2004) and it's fully paid for. My aim is to sell it off to fund either the Teana or Accord (used).

My dilemma is to choose between them. I love Hondas coz they're reliable. I had my previous City for 11 years - no problems whatsoever, still going strong. The Odyssey drives well too, but maintenance and fuel consumption can be quite costly. I've test driven the Teana before a few years back - comfortable, good handling car and I heard Nissan engines are very good.

I'd appreciate any feedback from fellow forumers who own either the Teana or the Accord, with regards to ride, handling, comfort, reliability, maintenance fees, fuel consumption, etc. Most importantly, which car brand is the cheapest to maintain?

Thanks.

hello i am back it is better for you to buy New Honda City even though i am a big fan of proton cars. If you insist to buy something like you want at RM70,000.00,then go and buy nissan teana because my boss/pastor (pastor Mok Chek sung) is using and driving it right now. 1.(http://www.mudah.my/2010+Nissan+Teana+2+0+A+full+bodykit-46825908.htm)-Nissan Teana 2010 RM 40,800(negotiable)
2.(http://www.mudah.my/2012+Nissan+Teana+2+0+XE+A+PUSH+START+BODYKITS-46934252.htm) Nissan Teana 2012 RM 66800(negotiable)
or hyundai elentra which is quite cheap right now. It is around RM79349.00 after discount. And By the way, How is your proton iriz? apparently, it should have less problem compare to the old proton cars Because it was highly praised by <link removed>.

Not looking at Korean cars right now. I just want a brand that is proven reliable. The Iriz is a good car for it's price, despite some minor QC issues. The handling is way better than my old City.
Thanks for your input.
