Trixx had successfully unlocked an iPhone, if i'm not mistaken. With that said, i think he meant, "PM me if you want me to unlock your iPhone".

QUOTE(wei @ Sep 24 2007, 04:26 PM) Well, as a service provider, I hope they know what they're doing. If they think I'm just one customer & don't give shit about it. Very well, they don't deserve my money. And to be sure, once I shift telco, it's gonna be a few line together (family & close friend). I agree too, service provider must think and overcome this kind of problem. Thinking 1 customers loss is no big deal but word spread so fast and soon or later, people will know the disadvantages. So more people thinking why subscribe the service provider where they can't deliver the service we need? As a consumer, we have the rights to take this issue up and let them know what's going on. Besides, isn't customers doing the service provider a service? And it might affect more if the bad reputation spread out in my community. Here's my thot on maxis' approach to handling the iphone situation. If they are not the least bit concern about us malaysian who are devious
Now, for these pple, i'm sure they will have the same problem and will choose to roam with either Digi and Celcom. My apologies as I'm so darn frustrated that Maxis has not even bothered make a statement about this; either that or they are completely oblivious to the INTERNET!!!!! |

Unfortunately I was told that the technical personnel who handles "123" ? All their 'unknown phone or new phone' cases .. they will ask you to go to the nearest maxis shop and test there.
Anyone free to go to one ? I'm in Cyberjaya most from 8-8 daily Also from word of mouth, I hear that whenever maxis have issues like this, they will usually revert to Ericsson(equipment provider??) - so.. yeah, if any of you guys know anyone working in Ericsson can also bug the hell out of them. I'm *THIS* close to switching providers. Seriously, spotty coverage, bad customer service.. they're getting worse. |

Ive been to the maxis centre already and i think they were more preoccupied with playing with my iphone than actually able to do anything. They will still revert to their HQ and based on the previous post, the resolution has to be way they configure their EDGE system.Anyone free to go to one ? Whoa thanks! That's good to know - save me a trip from going to a maxis centre!
Hopefully we can all push our friends to start pushing Maxis's buttons and get them to resolved this asap. |

so that maxis can pay more attention to this issue |

Perhaps the new firmware will fix the problem, or has it already been said that its not a firmware problem but a NETWORK problem?
Added on September 25, 2007, 3:47 pmUh Oh: --- Apple has issued a statement today that programs available for the iPhone to SIM unlock it could cause "irreparable damage" to the device. Apple has discovered that many of the unauthorized iPhone unlocking programs available on the Internet cause irreparable damage to the iPhone's software, which will likely result in the modified iPhone becoming permanently inoperable when a future Apple-supplied iPhone software update is installed. Apple plans to release the next iPhone software update later this week which will include the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store. It appears the statement only refers to SIM Unlocking your iPhone to allow it to use networks outside of AT&T. It would appear that 3rd party hacks (Ringtones, Applications) would not cause the same problems. One forum user indicates it is possible to reverse the SIM Unlock by reflashing the firmware but must be done manually at this time. This post has been edited by OmniAtlas: Sep 25 2007, 03:47 PM |

Can i suugest that we start with this guy:so that maxis can pay more attention to this issue (from http://www.maxis.com.my/personal/about_us/people/senior.asp) Jon Hoffmann Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Head of Network Engineering & Operations (NEO) Jon was appointed Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Head of Network Engineering & Operations (NEO). He will be responsible for the operations of the Maxis telecommunications network. Jon brings with him over 21 years of telecommunications experience. He joins us from Wataniya Telecom, Kuwait where he last held the position of Chief Technology Officer. Jon was successful in replacing/upgrading all of Wataniya Telecom's technical infrastructure components including Radio, Core, VAS, CRM and Billing in a relatively short time with HSDPA, all IP, converged Internet, Fixed net, Mobile net, Prepaid and Postpaid. Prior to that, Jon was with Telenor Nordic Mobile, Norway (the parent company of Sonofon) as the CTO where he assumed responsibility to merge the IT and Network organization of the Telenor Mobile operations of Telenor Mobil Norway, Djuice Sweden and Sonofon Denmark. He was also employed with Sonofon Denmark as Chief Technology Officer and Jydsk Telefon in Denmark and Germany as Manager, Software Development. Jon holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering specializing in EDP Systems from Aalborg University. If there is anyone who knows (or of someone from maxis) who can get us his email address, perhaps we can all write a petition to him. Maybe he only sits in his office and answers his emails without any access whatsoever to the internet and the news relating to maxis as a service provider??? Added on September 25, 2007, 4:33 pmLet's take it to Big Brother y'all!!!! Added on September 25, 2007, 4:45 pm QUOTE(lordsoulx @ Sep 25 2007, 03:39 PM) there are some initial problems for the 1st version of hack for access to youtube on hacked iphone; thereafter, ive gotten help in resolving it. now, youtube works great on both wifi and EDGE connections. nothing to do with being in Malaysia. No worries, there are never stupid questions, just stupid service providers. Can you all tell i'm still greatly upset I can't get incoming calls on my iphone via Maxis?!?!!? This post has been edited by Flight123: Sep 25 2007, 04:47 PM |

There is wifi remember, of coz u can. Plus if u subscribe EDGE, u can use that too. If u don't subscribe they will charge per kb download then.
