well, this iphone is for rich/elite people with no desire to change battery on their own. they prefer to buy and use, and send it back if something goes wrong. apple support center is always a nice experience though. if it turns you off, then it's not for u or definitely not for me for the time being.

simple answer. yes at&t sell iphone without requiring any activation. I went there, said i want Iphone without activation, they asked which one, I said 8 gig, I gave them 430usd(taxed), they give me the iphone. I get out from there, without anybody waiting at the door forcing me to activate

iphone application is increasing in number. maybe after price drop and iunlock, there are more people demanding/contributing more application.

btw,

anyone know how to disable edge? i tried using Deedge but it didnt work. anyone has success with it. AT&T charge me 1.5 cent per KB without the package.

I just tried the new Gui Unlock method. My finding:

1. I can use maxis simcard in the US (finally!!)
2. I can receive sms and call in
3. but cannot call out and sms out
4. *122# works and tells me the baki
5. topup using *111* also works

this result is using maxis sim card while roaming (under AT&T carrier). so malaysia result may differ.

huh... finally can disable edge.. that stupid things cost me 5usd since u used it for 4 days

yeap... but now it's not that complicated but it might not work with your iphone. there are some people getting error with anysim method. but worst case, you can recover back with itunes as all you do is software hack.

att simcard is not necessary. it can be unlocked even without simcard

I found the pictures have nice color saturation in enough lighting. the sharpness is also good but you either have enough light or steady hand. in low light however, it's quite underperforming.

i'm quite sure you don't have to rehack your iphone to put custom ringtone using ibrickr.

but i heard the newest update in itunes renders the custom ringtones unusable.

about the warranty stuff. i already talked to customer service. they said they still cover if something happen when you are abroad (malaysia). but you have to send back to use as malaysian service center is still not equipped to repair iphone. once apple introduce iphone in malaysia, you can then send to local service center.

let's email maxis and ask them how's the fix progress for iphone users. maybe we can pressure them to work a little bit faster. im sending an email now.

i think that work best if we use edge. i never test it coz my university connection is kinda restricted. plus there arent many public wifi in my area
