I think currently Public Bank's 4.1% + 4.5% (6M + 6M) is the best offer.

You have to be in person at the counter or a call over the phone will do? Will they pay you on the spot?

Just got to know from LYN that one could request the interest for weekend to be paid if the maturity date falls on a weekend.. Well I wonder if I still can claim back the weekend interest for a FD which matured last year on a weekend which I have uplifted it last year..

Hi all, a newbie here to ask question...

After reading the thread, was wondering if we using a banker's check for FD, what is the payee name to write on the banker's check if you don't have a account for the new bank?

Thanks in advance!

Those step-up promo is subject to change if OPR changes. So better lock up full tenure at fixed rate.

it was reported by one forummer that bsn stopped the offer. some banks have quota for the deposit amount. so they could end it earlier. or end it as no one else is offering that high. devil.gif

u can always try and let us know if that was not true.

Why don't think so?

This is from the TnC. (3+3+3 PBB Step Up)

Edited:
Looking for 6+6 TnC...

Here you go:

I am not sure about other step-up promo. Perhaps some can share. But there's reasons why more banks start to offer step-up promo. Like some members here said, OPR might be adjusted lower coming MPC meeting.

Just walked into OCBC branch just now for the 4.3% 15 month FD with free trolley bag. The free trolley bag is not a guarantee if you deposit 70k or more, it's a lucky draw. I really dislike these insidiously deceptive promotions.
