I just received call from their sales ppl, I ask for more info but he insisted on meeting up to give details. Normally, I prefer to know more details before meeting them. No point wasting each other time. That's why I ask here.

Sounds more like HLA EverGain product. Are you sure it's Hong Leong Bank? Or Hong Leong Assurance? hmm.gif

Any possibility for BNM to deliver surprise tis time?
*
Not likely. I think they would wait for 1Q GDP to be out first.

I think currently Public Bank's 4.1% + 4.5% (6M + 6M) is the best offer.

Those step-up promo is subject to change if OPR changes. So better lock up full tenure at fixed rate.

I don't think so.

Why don't think so?

This is from the TnC. (3+3+3 PBB Step Up)

Edited:
Looking for 6+6 TnC...

Here you go:

I am not sure about other step-up promo. Perhaps some can share. But there's reasons why more banks start to offer step-up promo. Like some members here said, OPR might be adjusted lower coming MPC meeting.

Yes, you are right! I just went to PBB & the brochure mentioned about it. When I asked the bank officer, he said so far they never revise the offer rates even though the T&C states otherwise.

Anyway, I have done placement with PBB & MBB's step-up FD rates before & so far they honour the offer rates. Hopefully they don't revise when the OPR changes.
*
Need to see how far back does the officer mean. OPR went up since early 2010, it was good for them not to revise the offer rates, unless he's referring to crisis time where OPR was adjusted downward from 3.50% to 2.00% which I don't have the details about any promo that time. Not saying that you should not take up the offer, but just need to be mindful that they have the rights to revise rates should OPR changes. Cheers smile.gif

I place RM 30K on 17 Feb 2016 with General Investment Account-i (GIA-i)
i got interest banked in on 17 Mar 2016 for RM 95.08

that is not 4% right?

Also placed RM10K on 16TH feb 201 and got interest of
RM31.69 on 16 mar 2016. ....

What is effective interest rate?
*
30K x 29 / 366 x 4% = 95.08 (rounding)
10K x 29 / 366 x 4% = 31.69 (rounding)

No problem bro.

Ya, it's the best 1-month FD for now if you don't mind the lack of principal guarantee feature.
