On 1 June 2016, there is only one clearcut best FD promo deal.
Bangkok Bank, 4.35%, 12 months, minimum RM 10,000 fresh fund,
interest paid on maturity. Promo till 30 June 2016.
The only problem is that there are so few branches in Malaysia as placement is over the counter. Good thing, the Bangkok Bank HQ at Jalan Tun HS Lee is close to a large number of public transport stops for LRT, buses and free purple GOKL bus- Pasar Seni, Masjid Jamek, Lin Ho, Medan Pasar, Tun HS Lee, Tun Perak. Even the old KL railway station and Puduraya are not too far off. Will not even think of driving there.

Called to UOB, FD promo until end July:

5 mth 4%
10 mth 4.15%
12 mth 4.25%

min 10k.

So UOB has dropped from 4.3% to 4.25% for 12 mth FD.

Called to OCBC, same as last month 12 mth 4.2% till end Aug, min 10k, fresh fund.

FD promotion may still around for sometimes, as LDR inched up from 86.9% to 87.2%.

4.5% was extra ordinary high.
It was just last year end to beginning of the year that we saw spike in promotion rate.

Other time of last year, it was about this level about 4.0~ 4.2%.
