Just walked into OCBC branch just now for the 4.3% 15 month FD with free trolley bag. The free trolley bag is not a guarantee if you deposit 70k or more, it's a lucky draw. I really dislike these insidiously deceptive promotions.

Sorry, didn't read the fine print. Just for the benefit of latecomers who still think the trolley bag is available.

Why don't think so?

This is from the TnC. (3+3+3 PBB Step Up)

Edited:
Looking for 6+6 TnC...

Here you go:
[attachmentid=6175759]

I am not sure about other step-up promo. Perhaps some can share. But there's reasons why more banks start to offer step-up promo. Like some members here said, OPR might be adjusted lower coming MPC meeting.

Yes, you are right! I just went to PBB & the brochure mentioned about it. When I asked the bank officer, he said so far they never revise the offer rates even though the T&C states otherwise.

Anyway, I have done placement with PBB & MBB's step-up FD rates before & so far they honour the offer rates. Hopefully they don't revise when the OPR changes.

Need to see how far back does the officer mean. OPR went up since early 2010, it was good for them not to revise the offer rates, unless he's referring to crisis time where OPR was adjusted downward from 3.50% to 2.00% which I don't have the details about any promo that time. Not saying that you should not take up the offer, but just need to be mindful that they have the rights to revise rates should OPR changes. Cheers smile.gif

So angry with BSN@Kelana Jaya !!
Went to open a FD there.
Took a number which is like number 4xxx and waited.
There was only 2 counters and they keep serving the 5xxx numbers which I guess it the normal banking service numbers series.
After 30 mins, I asked one of the counter if they going to service the 4xxx number and they yes, so I thought like maybe the next one since I remindered them.

But guess what?? They still continue serving the 5xxx number.
I thought maybe after this will my number....nope, it went to the next 5xxx number.

So I walked off !!!

Been seeing BSN billboard around the KL&Selangor recently, guess they allocated big budget on their marketing side but none on the internal management.

I have good experience with PBB on FD promo. In Oct 2014 I placed a step-up FD with them. Few weeks later, they revised the offer rate UP ! Then they said for those that placed the FD earlier, the second 6 mths rate will be 4.28% instead of 4.08%. That is good of them doing that so that customer who placed the FD just few weeks ago are happy about it ! Though this is not related to OPR change, but the experience of the step-up FD is GOOD ! But the clause for OPR change could be unsettling to some ! biggrin.gif
