MissHanz, this is not weird.. Once I pump full for my car.. The range on the meter show is about 600km.. But actually I only manage to get 450km-480km for a full tank until fuel light on. Mine also normally drive 110km/h - 140km/h if not many cars around.. and is control myself to be light footed some more.. If u want to observe ur driving style.. U could change the meter setting to "Current Litre/100KM".. At 1st gear and 2nd gear must special light foot and after 3rd gear maintain the current Litre/100KM is below 8Litre/100KM.. And u sure will get FC 500km/tank above..

Can anyone tell me how many bars or fuel left until your fuel light comes on? Also, if anybody who averages 130km/h in your usual drive can tell me what's your driving range like, how often do you have to fuel in a month on avg?? Even when I drive slow below 3k rpm, below 110km speed I still for the life of me cannot even hit the 500km mark. rclxub.gif

When I drove to Kuantan last time at avg 120kmh I got 600km ++ which is impressive for me, but not compared to others. I don't do harsh brakes and accelerate smoothly also. Gahhhhhh

Lights up at 2 bars and has about 12litres in it when lighted. I usually drive around a little on the last bar before I pump.

Our fuel tank is 51litres so the next time you pump, you can see how much you put in and confirm for your car how much is left in case there are slight variations car to car.

I can easily get past 600 km before the fuel light comes on. Daily commute is Klang to SJ on Kesas highway with a few traffic lights beginning and end of journey. Usually going at 110 to 120 km/h when road is clear with bursts of acceleration for overtaking occassionally when I rev to 3500 - 4000 rpm. Weekends some short town trips. Usually I fuel up 3 times a month.

i usually drive around KL on weekend only, my fc is averaging at 7.6L/100km, every time i pump is around 37-39L, i dont challenge myself until light on only refuel, i usually refuel when it left around 3-4 bar

last week i get 8.3L/100km because i went up genting by driving aggressively, so the total trip for that tank only last around 440km tongue.gif

i noticed that m3 use more fuel when < 4th gear, which mean is around 0-49km/h on normal drive so it is best to stay out of this speed as soon as possible

i wonder if mazda got use defeat device for their emission test laugh.gif

What is your mix between city and highway? Getting 450km - 480km for a full tank (about 44L before light up) is not very good unless it is 100% city driving with traffic lights every short stretch. You should not need to drive carefully just to get 500km or more. My mix is 50% city and 50% highway and I'm getting 580 km per tank without needing to be light footed.

When left second bar, the fuel light starts showing. But will have no problems driving until zero bars as the reserve/unmeasured portion is about 5 litres.

I can average about 650km per 45L of RON95 petrol which is about 6.9L/100km or 14.km/L.

Does your place have a significant uphill climbs or got quite a lot of need to do overtaking? But I don't really feather footed and rather ah beng in early mornings and I still can get that fuel economy....

If your referring to the new Civic with the new 1.5L turbo engine :

Technically, fuel economy will favour the Civic, but not sure in real life. My guess is should be similar.

Maintenance cost will be Mazda as fuss free for the 3 years.

Ease of headache, both cars won't cure your headaches (just kidding tongue.gif ). So far not heard of any bad cases of engine and gearbox failure for the Skyactiv petrol engines. The powertrain is consider rather reliable from a UK car website and have good recommendation for Skyactivs. The common issue with the Mazda 3 being :
1) Noisy suspension even when new (most of us complain to SC kaw kaw)
2) Loud tik/tak noise on windscreen for some, a little annoying but less frequent than the suspension noise
3) The NVH insulation of the Mazda3 will really need to step up on the upcoming facelift, the factory fitted performance tyres made this worse (the new Civic will beat it hands down)
4) Some complain of being a little tight at the rear seats. Will be an issue for tall people, but my family members are fine with it (new Civic wins this hands down as the space can compete with the Accord sweat.gif )
5) Skyactiv engine roar vs Vtec scream (personal preference applicable)
6) Some with light tickling/rattling of the dashboard
6) Brake feel and travel not so nice (personal preference applicable), but the bite is absolutely adequate even when needed to slow down from high speeds.
7) The "Mazda" brand vs the "Honda" brand (suka hati kau la.....)

In the end, your choice la...despite continental cars having vocal complaints, there are many people still flock to them as the emotional appeal can be stronger than rational appeal (example : there are more W205 C Class on the road than the Mazda3 within the places i drive often). Get what satisfy you most. If you're in the lookout and not in hurry, please do wait for the new Civic and the new Elantra later on (i have a 2010 hyundai back home and it is rather solid till this day with no nightmares other than the regular service).

Wow.. Thanks for the detail feedback..

You getting 14km/L is amazing. Notmally I believe this can only achieve by driving long distance on highway.. tongue.gif

You're welcome. My driving situation is 60% highway and 40% urban. I only have to wait for 1 traffic light on the way to work and 3 traffic lights when coming back, so maybe that helps the fuel economy a bit more.

Sorry about the damage. I don't think Mazda SC provide courtesy cars. If I were you I would repair it outside. You can send the car in the morning and get it back in the evening. A good shop can colour match the paint exactly so it will be as good as repairing at SC.

I would advise against AM/PM job for paintwork + patching. The paint needs to be properly cured & set.

It's not necessary to replace the whole door. Our body repair shops are so good that the repair will be good as new. Unless you are claiming someone else's insurance not worth paying for the door or claiming your own insurance.

Will depend on the work queued in Authorised Body & Paint SC.

FYI, there's only few Authorised B&P SC in Klang Valley

Glenmarie
PJ
Sg.Besi
Padang Jawa

For our SC, I would say around 2-3 days on average. We're at SgBesi, FYI.

Ever since current gen civic is equipped with CVT, it is not as well known as it's predecessor civic FD anymore, there is not much civic on the road nowadays but m3 is even more rare though tongue.gif

Hopefully the new civic can regain its former glory again but they want to stick with CVT which is a big turn off for me even though it come with a turbo, I rather stick with a conventional torque converter tongue.gif
