my bad  tongue.gif  i am currently using bigtyphoon XV with artic silver 5. i notice other people got lower temp while using this hsf..u think i have prob with my cpu temp?

Maybe you try to reinstall the HSF and reapply AS5 and see how...besides, your casing air flow also affect the performance of the HSF... and cable management also affect the air flow in a casing... there are so many factor... anyway, just try reinstall it first... icon_rolleyes.gif

Ok guys, i got a weird problem here. My gf's laptop used to be running very hot. I mean, when i put the laptop to a chair for about 15-20min and take it out, you could really feel the heat at the chair.However, i didnt really test the temperature at that time.

Anyway, we went and get another piece of 1g ram for the laptop (previously running at 256MB) as well as a laptop cooler (Zalman NC-1000) yesterday in order to help decrease the temperature. When she on the laptop without using the cooler (inserted the 1g ram), put onto a chair for about 1hour, the chair aint that hot. I mean, the heat produced is less already compared to last time where you could really feel the heat produced.

Then, i installed PC Wizard to test the temperature and its just showing 36c. What might be the problem before?Cause i am pretty sure it must be running higher than 36c even when turn on for 15min.Could adding a ram help the problem?

And when the laptop cooler was used, it drop the temperature to a mere 30-31c. Great buy there..lol...

The laptop spec:

Pentium M 1.3Ghz
256MB DDR233 (Upgraded with another 1G)

I think last time it will be hot is bacause the ram have only 256MB, so it will use virtual memory when more resourse needed, so there will be more activity for your hard disk, so more heat produced... anyway, this is just my guess... icon_rolleyes.gif

Ooo...I have this thought as well but come to think about it, it seems silly to me as a piece of ram is going to affect the temperature so much..lol..But if i think about it, this is the only change i made so the chances that this is the culprit is so high..

Hi guys, I'm using E6300 and intel stock fan. I didn't use any after-market fan. My current temperature of E6300 vout o/c (1.86ghz) is 43C when idle. I tried to o/c it b4 to 2.5ghz and the temperature are also 43 C when idle. I thought E6300 should be around 30C without o/cing? But when i run blend test, vout oc is around 65C, v oc is 75C. sweat.gif Btw, i'm puting my pc at the upside of a table, meaning is not under the table where the airflow is stuffy. My room is vout air cond, but during at night is quite cool. So, for my processor, is 40 to 41C at night (with and without o/c), and 44 - 45C during the afternoon which is the hottest time.

Can i know y is this happening? the temperature shouldn't be so high issit? I'm using two 3rd party fan, one from the side, then at the back there suck the wind inside the casing to outside. Thanks in advance icon_rolleyes.gif

how big is the fan? and also what brand of casing and cooler are you using? cos bad casing also has bad ventilation...also your cable management also affected..

My fan is normal 12cm those. Small size. I'm using iCute for the side and Cooler Master to suck the wind out. Both are running at around 1800rpm. My casing is brandless one. tongue.gif Is a medium size cpu casing, not those huge one. My cable inside the computer are quite messy. Not really spacious. But... despite all those fact, i thought it shouldn't be such a big difference? I mean..... idle can go upto 40++ C where normally is 30C? Thanks in advance icon_rolleyes.gif

currently running my e6400 on giga 965-ds3 board with artic freezer pro 7 ,temp is about 48-50 shown in coretemp overclocked to 3200ghz , my question is i set the vcore to auto in bios, according to cpuz is running at 1.424 voltage, is this correct, ? or i should set it manually in the bios, what voltage should i use for my current overclock, probably with lower vcore my temp will go down also rite?

@Axuel
I think a picture or two will tell us better of the situation but obvisouly ur processoer suffer of not enough of fresh air ...

@rayfoo
One rule of OC ing is make sureu have did sufficient cooling solution for both mobo and CPU ... else there would be significant temperature increment.

bout the voltage.
well not exactly the correct place to post this here. but yeah normally a lower vcore will have a lower temp.
48-50 seems pretty good though. i mean considering u overclocked to 3200Mhz, not GHz smile.gif mind u

IMO,AC Freezer 7 is not really good when u come to oc ur processor,u still need a better air cooler if u wanna go beyond the speed....

My e4300 stays at 46-49c idle (only clocked at 2.7GHz+), and goes max at around 54c when gaming and around 70c during ORTHOS, using Coolermaster Centurion 531 with 120mm intake and exhaust though. My friend's unit is idle at 40c, however. Wonder what's happening... I have ordered an AC Freezer 7, hopefully able to bring down the temp a little bit... hmm.gif

Yup, stock HSF. At this hour, 01:30, the reading is at 47c...maybe will try to mod the AC Freezer fan once I receive the unit...a bigger fan + an air duct, maybe, and forget about the fan noise issue 1st. rolleyes.gif hmm.gif

as i run my computer for a 3d game for 24hours per day ...
my computer are running as almost 100 percent usage of the resource of my comp

so after a long period which about after 6 or 12 hours my game will become lag

so my question is can i use a small fan to blow the cpu 24hours per day to decrease the heat since my casing is took off ..?? is it effective ??

and my 2nd question is i check my cpu ,i can't find out where is my cooling fan located at...is it possible a cpu without fan?? there is no something which look like a fan inside my cpu
