QUOTE(satchi1981 @ Dec 4 2006, 11:44 AM)
Well, recently when i played Need For Speed Carbon or Call of Duty at medium graphic settings, I will be able to play it for like 5-8 minutes tops and then i get artifacting effects.Small 3d boxes appear all over the screen cry.gif
whats even worse is i need to restart (no exitting the game doesnt solve it).

Did some troubleshooting and found out with ATITool that my Graphic card temperature is at 100C or more when loaded ! shocking.gif  rclxub.gif
and idle at 65-75C.
Graphic card is not overclocked. Stock setting with stock cooling.

Now question I have for the hardcore OC'ers;
1) Is it a normal temperature range for this type pf graphic card?
2) Is it better to change cooling and hope its not a physical malfunction or better get a new card?

Thanks for all inputs smile.gif
Below are my specs:
DFI LAN Party UT-D
Antec TP-II 480W
ATI X800XL pcie
AMD64 Venice 3200+
Kingston Memory 512 twin pack(sorry dont have the chipset type)
Westerd Digital 160Gb
Maxtor 120Gb
*
i think u shud get a new hsf for it. to prolong the life of the card. unless with the new coat of AS5, the temperature drops significantly.
could u also post up a pic of ur rig? ur case might be cramp and ristricting airflow...

there is this conector thing that the sell to jump start 2 psu.
basically, what u do is connect the green wire of the 20/24pins of one psu, to the green wire of the second psu.

(sorry if my explanation is kinda chaplang.)

lately, my sempron is getting a bit hot. dunno why. i hv changed the thermal compound, reapply it, the problem still persist. i saw people getting around 30 C in idle. but my one went up to as high as 40-45 C. i open my casing and boot up windows. touch the heatsink, ironically, it wasnt hot. what is the problem actually? what idle temperature is standard for sempron E6?
*
dude, u gotta remount quickly before ur porc dies out.
bad contact = death for a proc. arks ><
heat conductivity isnt good

Even bad airflow wouldnt cause the proc to idle at 50C. I think your temp sensor gone bad as you said it doesnt feel hot.
*
if it doent feel hotmeans the contact between the 2 surfaces r bad.
it has nothing to do with the temp. sensor

y u use small fan?try using 120mm front and read one way air flow..inifinity works damn great with two fan..Try get a silverstone or ac ryan fan .
*
not really true.
it works well with low speed fans, thats a better staement.
his rear fans are not pushing out hot air quick enuf, thus causing the hot air to be reused over and over again. u get the rough idea.

my e6300 oced to 2.66ghz at 380x7 with vcore 1.248v, when idle, i am getting 58c at 1st core and 56c and 2nd core with TAT reading. When under orthos stress, i am getting 70c and 68c highest. Is this normal? I am using mini typhoon with normal thermal paste.
*
im afraid it doesnt seem very normal, have u tried to reapply the hsf? and maybe throw some AS5 in too!

1) what type of watercooling are u using?
2) are u sure the contact between the CPU and the Wc block is good? maybe try re-installing and replace the thermal paste

ur temperature is high for a WC kit.
unless its a high end kit, u wont see a significant diff in temps

no wonder ur temps are so high, ur WC kit is not sufficient for the proc u are using.
try using the stock HSF and see whether thereis a significant diff between ur WC kit and stock HSF

can any1 give me some recomendation?
i using stock heat sink

my cpu temp is 65c at full load, i just dontwan overheat at full load, idle temp is not important, temperature surrounded is 28c

my budget is RM150, and not tower casing, something like CM HYPER TX still can fit but Thermalright HR01 cant fit, any 1 can help pls?

(my rig)
asus P5B
C2D 6300
512mb RAM
galaxy 7300gt premium
160gb HDD
18x multi drive
380w CM extreme
cooler= stock heat sink
*
in that case just go for the hyper tx. or thermalright SI-120, SI-128
those are good hsfs smile.gif

Then that is good lor...get yourself the Hyper TX, only RM135 from Moderno IIRC...lower than your budget...should be able to cooldown it even when OC... icon_rolleyes.gif
*
yeah but please do consider the SI-120
seems to me that it contends very well compared to TT BT, and all that.
SI-128 would be even better with the fin density difference and all that.

SI-120 sure is nice but is out of my budget, TT BT also out of budget , i saw them perform quiet good when i reading those post in heat sink round up , afterthen i realize that CM HYPER TX is almost same like HR-01, but the price different RM50, it should be perform like HR-01, so i think i going for HYPER TX
u using wat processor??
and i just wondering are there others hsf is cheaper than HYPER TX but good performance?? cause i wan to save money to buy CM extreme power 550watts
*
i think the HR-01 will still out-perform the hyper tx.
judging by the fin density and all that taken into consideration smile.gif

well i used just about the same - as long it's alcohol (Tape recorder cleaner or perfume laugh.gif) will do...i must say it worked...thumbup.gif

dont use perfume. other chemicals might cause a very nasty chemical reaction, and god knows what will happen
